Is it worth it to pay 100 quid more for M1 or 200 more for M2 processor? I’ll be using Lidar scan for my business but I couldn’t find any information about Lidar scan improvements for newer models.

The M1 is not £100 more than this 2020 version though. It's £170 more, assuming you are buying the same 128GB variant through Apple's refurb store. Yes, you can get them from Cex, but that's a lottery.

In my opinion, the M1 is not worth another £170 over this unless you have some very specific use cases. The ones that spring to mind is that Apple improved external monitor support in the M1 and M2 iPads with the 'Stage Manager' feature, and that feature is not available on the 2020 iPad Pro. Also, if you're a digital artist, you would make use of the Apple Pencil hover feature only available in the M2. Finally, the older the iPad, the fewer years of software updates you'll get.

Those aside, the 2020 iPad Pro will perform almost identically to the M1 and M2 iPads.

I grabbed this the last time they were in stock (about a month ago). I got the 2yr interest free financing at just under £20 per month. Haven’t regretted my purchase, it’s a great bit of kit.
Take a look at the Metapen on Amazon too - it’s a £20 stylus that works just as well as the Apple Pencil. Have used it every day since purchasing.

There doesn’t look to be a Finance option this time which is odd.

I would highly suggest anyone after an iPad Pro to get atleast the M1 model. The reason for this is future support and user experience.- Yes this 2020 is still capable but it is using the legacy Apple A12Z Bionic; The main apps have transitioned over to M1 and more apps are doing so each day.

I have owned my M1 iPad Pro 512GB since launch and it’s solid.

I two days a go spotted a deal for my partner who was after an iPad also. - We got an iPad Pro 4th gen M2 256GB WIFI + Cellular brand new & sealed for £725! Crazy not to go for the latest model at that price.

Looking on Apples refurb page the iPad Pro M1 256GB WIFI + cellular is still£849...

I'd shop around and take advanatage of any 10 months interest free offers that are on offer such as with Paypal. (edited)

Where did you find the ipad pro 4th gen?

Which iPad would you recommend for for an elderly who uses it for browsing websites and YouTube? Currently have iPad Air 1 which is just too slow now and battery is very poor from years of use.
    MrBook's avatar
If your needs are really basic like browsing websites and YouTube, then even a normal ipad would be up for the task.
Brand new they go for less than £300.

For anyone concerned about this being an older version, Trust me when I say it is way over specced for day to day use.

I actually watched a full length 4k film on it last night and it was very impressive, Both visually and audio wise.
Given I am fussy and have an expensive setup for main viewing, This says a lot about the quality of this iPad.

Purchased the 256GB version on the previous offer. It was indistinguishable from a new one, Aside from a more plain box.

I bought one these 6 months ago. It’s fine but hate the Face ID -  works well on my iPhone but on this it usually takes several attempts trying to find an angle that the camera will accept.

Wish I’d paid a little more & got brand new M1 iPad Air with Touch ID (before the price increases).
    SparkysDream's avatar
I’ve found Face ID great, works pretty much every time, no manoeuvring required. It was a strong factor in keeping this iPad Pro when a standard 9th generation would have done me and saved money.

Won’t all Apple refurbs be classed as deals?

I just grabbed a 9th Gen iPad 64gb refurb, for £309 with additional friends and family discount. (edited)

Thank you very much for sharing this deal. I was actually on the lookout for the 12.9 (4th gen) version which is also back in stock.

I just got declined since I was trying to make this purchase for my business. I didn't get this point, how Barclays taking money from us? Is it taking money from your bank account(monthly)? I assume that's why it is asking for your bank sort code and number.

Just bought an iPad Air 4th gen last week, typical.
  15. colin79666's avatar
Ok deal but I’d be looking at the M1 now or an Air if you don’t need the pro features. I bagged an A grade 128gb M1 with cellular from CEX a couple of weeks ago for £570. Apple refurb has the bonus of a new battery and casing but an A grade refurb/2nd hand should be almost new looking anyway and if only a year old the battery should still be fine.

Would I be stupid if I bought this to replace my iPad mini 6 and I use my iPad all the time and don’t watch any tv, I love my iPad mini
    AJR41's avatar
If you love your iPad mini, why do you want to replace it?

From the product page: "£469.00 Was £649.00 Save £180.00", but not sure when the price came down. It was definitely at £469 a month ago though.

What would be the better buy out of this or the latest iPad Air? Although I believe the new iPad Air is £669?
    italkapple's avatar
    iPad Pro 2020 for cost.
If you’re going to buy an air latest model, skip it and look around at the iPad Pro M1 / M2. You can buy an IPad Pro M1 128GB for the same price if not cheaper than the Air latest model without much shopping around.
if you check eBay etc you’ll be able to get a iPad Pro M1 for £650 or less and M2 not too far from that. Storage all depends on price.

Yes, it comes in and out of stock, you just need to keep an eye out. Could take anything between a few days and a few weeks, but it should be back in stock at some point.
