Rise of the Tomb Raider recently ported to Windows 10 is available from the Indian Microsoft Store using a similar technique to that used on Xbox.

The game on that marketplace retails at ₹ 1,002.00 however currently there is 10% off taking the price too ₹ 889.00 which roughly converts to £9.30 when I used my revolut card. Currently listed at £35.89 with discount on the UK store.

To change region on PC click the bottom left windows button, settings, time & language, region & language and then click India from the drop down menu. Once your purchase has been completed you can return your region back to UK.

How to change the default install location of Metro apps from C: to another drive - Click Start button, Settings, type "Storage" top right, click "Storage". Under "Save Locations", change "New apps will save to" to the drive you want the game to be installed on.

    Download Revolut on Android/iOs. Add £10 to it. Create a virtual card in the app. Use your virtual Revolut card details to pay.

    I would avoid it if possible, locked to 30 fps on consoles, will be almost unplayable.

    Nah, I just used "000000" as my Indian postcode (apparently 6 numbers is their postcode format) and I randomly picked an Indian state from the drop down list. The rest of the address was just my actual UK address.

    Everything went through fine :).

    Same I'm on an i7 2600k over clocked and can't think of a reason to … Same I'm on an i7 2600k over clocked and can't think of a reason to upgrade to a newer i7.As for windows 10, like I say I love it and have loads of games and software and have only run into 2 problems. One being a wierd thing where my computer doesn't seem to shut off proper and 1 game I had to set to windows 7 mode.



    ​I've got an overclocked I5 2500k and I was planning a big new build but I watched a few comparisons between or and the new skylake chips and using the same newer graphics card it only gave about a 10% increase in fps, i'm a sucker for having the latest and greatest but my 2500k still works perfectly for what I ask it to do, I still might convince myself I need to build a new £1000 rig but it's interesting information to know.

    I'm interested in it, I've even ordered it, I've even provided a code for £5 free for those who sign up to Revolut to buy it - but I'm still prepared to say he's got a point. The 'don't comment on something you're not interested in buying' mantra is nonsense.

    For those wanting to add the game to steam... You need to change the permissions for the windowsapp folder on the system drive even if the game is installed to a windowsapp folder on another drive. Once you've changed permissions on the one in C:/program files you point steam to there and the there is a shortcut in that folder to the install files on another drive.
    To change permissions on the Windowsapp folder in c:/program files this guide might help... maketecheasier.com/acc…-10

    Ive changed region settings to Ukraine, added my credit card to microsoft store and picked Ukraine and used a random address from the region. Nope, wont work. Microsofts error message is useless.

    * Now I'm trying Revolt trick and added £10. But still getting the same error. Its official = I do not know what I am doing!

    It supports DX12 though and it wouldn't surprise me if the Windows Store … It supports DX12 though and it wouldn't surprise me if the Windows Store version removed the DX11 support feature since it technically doesn't need to be backwards compatible with DX11.


    Only uses DX12 for volumetric lighting.. So not really gonna drop DX11 support since the whole game pretty much uses it. The reason being its an advanced port of the Xbox version which uses a custom DX11 and doesn't have DX12 support just yet either.

    As I said above a few times. It's not got a slim chance of working on windows 7 - this Xbox live version of the game is impossible to work on windows 7. It needs to be on the latest win 10 as it uses the Xbox app to sign you in. Things that literally are not in 7 or 8.1. The game works fine on win 7 - but only the steam version.

    There is. It's named ROTTR_UAP.exe. It's showing up under the Tomb Raider … There is. It's named ROTTR_UAP.exe. It's showing up under the Tomb Raider folder in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps but my download still has 10GB left so I can't try anything with it yet.



    That's not a real exe file. You can't run the windows App Store files directly. They just bring up an error. When you look at the shortcuts in the start menu they don't point to an exe file, they point to a folder.

    I've already tried the exe file, you can't link it in steam. Just run it then alt tab and pin to your task bar, make a shortcut on desktop or run it from the start menu - just don't think yo will be able to add it to your steam library

Wonder if anyone can suggest anything?I've changed my system to 'Ukraine' and correctly see the Ukrainian price in the store and price isn't greyed out. I click to buy and am prompted to log-in. When I add my details I get the message "Give it another try. Something went wrong".Seems to be the same if I try to log into the UK store or Indian store so not sure what's up. I have all Windows updates installed and on W10 version 1511.Just to rule out a problem with my account I've just set up a new one but still the same problem...Any help is appreciated! Thanks.



    Is that after you enter your card details? If so then your bank is probably declining it.

    Rename your "Rise of the Tomb Raider.LNK" shortcut something like … Rename your "Rise of the Tomb Raider.LNK" shortcut something like "RotTR.LNK" so it doesn't have any spaces in, I forgot to mention that in my original post, sorry. You can rename the exe you end up creating back to the full name and it still launches fine. Oh and the bat to exe I used was from here: http://www.f2ko.de/en/b2e.phpI don't know if that's the one you used, or if it even makes a difference, but that one I can confirm works and is the only other thing I didn't mention :).


    Thanks i got the exe method working, and it launches through steam now. Unfortunately the steamlink thinks my controller is a mouse. Apparently this is an issue with metro apps (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steamlink-sdk/issues/8) so just got to wait for a fix now.
