    Can you fit a 4070 under a 550W?
    - The recommendation is a 650W

However: This is a TX550 By Corsair, it's an excellent production PSU line, not just cos it's GOLD either.

550W is more than enough, We do not have a killer CPU in watts either,

it will be running at its higher Curve, However, my recommendation would be +25 for the Gigabyte 750W
    - but doing it on TX550 is fine, its £25 quid.. so common

    Bare this is a 5600G system. Not a 5600X

However, the 4070 kick starts at £590

it wont be very long untill Ebuyer does them on their eBay store..

and if they are on a code, well 10% off a £590 is going to be around the £530 figure.
if we can get the 15% code, thats a max of £75 off,

i expect this to happen within a 1-month - 6 Weeks in worst cases calendar.
    - may come on their buyer store a little higher, and drop.
but if the budget ones vanish, the expensive one will fill so ull get a higher card for less.

    so £310 link + 25 750W more + 42 nvme drive + 530 4070 (may come may not or upto £600 that will cost £650 atm) = 900/970

so there is scoop and chance on this 5600g to play the market even with a forecast 4070, obvious cant promise out,

last time i did an idea, like 5600g like this 2 days later an AMD 6650XT dropped at £240

5600g does not have gen 4, but its 1) not a 5600X its not far of, and 2 its still better then 5500, and if going for a budget 4K ur GPU bound anyways, u could save upto £100 comparable to both the 5600X out on here atm that feature a 4070 at £999.99 by palicomp and awd.

Wild Idea pairing a 5600G to a 4070, but the idea is there and its better to the SCAN UK Entry 5500/4070 system which people are snapping at over 1G. - daylight robbery.

more importantly, u can play the 5600G +TX550 with the last gen used cards is more a better fitment.  (edited)

Direct Storage will want Gen 4 however, but at this price, can't be beaten to be fair. Currently only one single game supporting it, but it'll become a 'thing', especially on Sony titles and others will move this way as time goes on, so worth thinking about if you're gonna spend the money on the decent GPU, perhaps. Rule of thumb on these cheaper drives. If it's for work, go for the Toshiba / Kioxia, as it has DRAM Cache, which helps in copying large files. The Kingston NV2 drive has a far lower lifespan, but they do have super 4K read and writes, the small files that make the real difference in how 'snappy' your PC feels. You'll never each the headline speeds, so don't let that steer you either way really. Either or at this price are great drives. Spend the extra £20 and get a plain 5600 if you are adding a discrete GPU and upgrade to (any) B550 and you won't go far wrong. Easier said than done, I appreciate, but the little spent now will save you headache in the future potentially.

    Skip the NV2, it's QLC and DRAM-less.

The Kioxia is a great little SSD though, TLC and DRAM-cache (please people that are comparing drives, don't take too much notice of the lower sequential speeds unless you plan on spending a lot of time trasnferring large files around). (edited)

That's super old. That generation of i5 it's not even Windows 11 compatible.
This PC + a 60-70 quid Rx 580 8gb graphics card from Aliexpress is a better deal for 1080p gaming.

Solid budget base. Add a 3060/4070 or equivalent AMD and this ought to do well for 1440p gaming

Great little starter PC for those that want to add a GPU later.
If you plan on putting a beefy GPU in at some point, you might want to opt for one of the mesh cases for better airflow.
As recommended by Sarden, grab the Kioxia if you want a 1TB drive. It's a cracker at that price. (edited)
