Could not be happier to have this TV! particularly the color, it is very REAL!the picture quality is awesome; i would say it is hard to beat oled. I watched the original 1975 movie and the TV made it look excellent (not much impressed with Samsung tv though).
Oled is definitely the way to go

The first deal that had given me slight buyers regret about my G1 77. I got that for 2900, which I know isn't amazing but was the best I could do at the time.

What’s wrong with the G1? These standard OLEDs are similar to each other maybe expect the Panasonic LZ2000.

The only true step up is the QD-OLED series like the Sony A95K with the best picture quality, upscaling & motion handling all in one.

Oh, I assumed these would be using an Evo panel as well... Hmmm

    This, or the 77 C2?

Already have the C2 on order with Costco but they haven't shipped it yet so might be possible to cancel. I've seen some suggestions that the Sony might be better for movies (my main use case) and the C2 is better for gaming. However reading reviews and looking at the specs on Rtings my gut feeling is that they are broadly similar sets for a similar price so I'm tempted to stick with the C2. Anyone want to point out the flaw in my thinking? (edited)

The LG can get brighter due to its Evo panel.

This Sony is using a matte or semi-matte Ex unlike last years 77inch Sony A80J Glossy Evo panel. It’s a shame really.

But I’d still chose the Sony over the LG for movies as it’s has the more better, natural and accurate picture / colours and better upscaling SD / HD content and better motion handling. Also I read on forums that people just prefer the Sony for picture processing whilst owing both TVs.

Either way you won’t be dissatisfied with both.
