Unlike a lot of posters i was mildly surprised the film was decent enough. The story is largely true (up until the third act anyway) and while it felt low budget sometimes i didnt think it was embarrassingly so.

The overtly christian content in the film is really only 2 lines, and they both stick out like a sore thumb. The conspiracy stuff around the film came after the film was made.... the film itself is largely free from conspiracy speculation (given its a true story) its only the odd "personal message from jim cavazeil" that plays halfway through the end titles thats conspiracy baiting.

It is not 'conspiracy baiting'. I dont know why y'all keep trying to sell it like that, when their agenda is made plain and simple, especially if you know these people or the context behind it all.

Too many people fall for propaganda specifically because they take everything at face value, which is exactly how most propaganda is designed - to fool people who dont know better.

really strange this one. firstly having watched it, it's incredibly dull, it's like one of those christian funded movies, it's an exploitation film but with all the exploitation filtered out, for whatever reason though, it seems to have attracted supporters who openly claim that if you do anything other than praise the film, there has to be something wrong with you, and perhaps you're the same type of person as the villain in the film. they seem to be on autopilot without brains. It's a true story not your action packed Bond movie. It was to raise awareness to what has been going on for years

Aye, regardless of how you want to take the controversy surrounding the film, at the end of the day it's just not very good. Painfully average film-making with some horrendously cheesy dialogue. I watched 53 new films in 2023 and this was the second worst.

Did a bit of research on this, I'll watch it but not keen on paying for it given the scandal surrounding it.

I know people who watched it at the pictures and they all said it was good but it wasn't shown anywhere near me.Any scandals surrounding anything are usually made up nonsense by the mainstream to discredit folk. What research was needed? It's a true story (edited)

Thanks OP for sharing and debunking the smear campaigns

Sad movie based on a true story, the kind of true story people with certain political leanings try to lie about or just avoid all together. Worth a watch for sure.

More like that side pretends to care so much about this because they are so clearly morally bankrupt in any objective sense that they rely on dumb propaganda like this to convince clueless people they are worth supporting. Not to mention the historical precedent of these folks actually harming the cause they pretend to support. Because in the end, they dont REALLY care about this that much, they just want some pillar to point to say they are 'good'. (edited)

No idea if this is good but £2 to find out seems a decent deal.

Made a huge amount of profit re: compared to budget.Am no expert on this film but appears to appeal to certain sections of US audience.Leading the way is the actor Jim Caviezel who has some pretty weird ideas to say the least (I did like him in Person of Interest) still each to their own.

I’m not overly keen to watch this. If you’ve got any doubts or just dont know the history google the guy who it’s based on and google the main actor, but be ready to be amazed.
no wonder JC can’t get work on Hollywood.
    bizzare, Bizzare man

I'm not sure  JC is that bothered about working in Hollywood. He managed to found an entire religion without being a member of SAG ASTRA. Not bad for the son of a carpenter.

It's pretty average and once you've seen it you'll forget about it and never be bothered to watch it again but there again that's most films these days.
