How far can this spray? I want to clear the roof of moss and would need to spray about 3 metres

I use these daily, the maximum length on a jet setting would reach about 15 feet, but is weak. The spray setting about 6 feet. They wouldn't work for your needs.

Same. All the valves snapped under pressure and this was 2nd or 3rd use.

Make sure you drain completely before winter, Frost will split the lance when the water freezes (as i found to my cost)

Would this work for snowfoam on a car?
    deleted1970577's avatar
    Anonymous User
No, it would work for applying an APC, but to get a decent coverage of snow foam you need a dedicated lance / cannon

Any good for taking off dried bird droppings of my car?

Just use a sponge soaked in water. Leave it to sit on the offending area for 5 mins and remove. You can wipe up with a tissue if required but it’s the best solution.

The only time I’ll ever let a sponge near my car, but it’s great

These are great for judicious application of selective lawn weedkiller like Weedol (used to be Verdone). It goes a lot further when you only spray the weeds themselves instead of the whole lawn.

Watered down yes , neat maybe on the strong spray setting

I bought one of these last week, it was useless. The weed killer was coming out of the air hole before you could pump it up. I sent it back and got the model up, that does the same. It's as tight as it will go. I'm now trying a different brand.

Good these get some sodium hypochlorite and spray your patio, you will never use a jet wash again

Great idea. Just ordered another one just for that. Sodium hypochlorite sitting in the garage just waiting for someone to get his act together and use it!

Any good for getting the green off a patio or cleaning a car?
    terriq's avatar
    terriq
I used mine to get the green off my patio using patio magic, was perfect! Sprayed it and in 24 hours the green was gone. This isn't used to blast off stains/algae it's more to apply treatments like weed killer, patiomagic etc. (edited)

As it has not been mentioned, this is great for getting water marks out of delicate silk garments. Hang the garment and spray all over the entire garment with a mist of water and let it dry naturally. Quicker and easier than a hand wash and much gentler to your garments than a machine wash

I have one of these, they're great.
Don't be thinking it's a pressure washer though! I use this to apply weed killer etc, used it today to apply decking cleaner.

    Can they effectively clean cars?
    thesuitgamer's avatar

They’re great for apply degreaser or a pre wash. They’re not really designed to be a pressure washer, Lidl sell a cordless pressure washer for £60 and with Lidl plus there’s 20% off this weekend (and you’d need a battery).

    smurkenstein's avatar
    smurkenstein
I don't think you can buy sodium hypochlorite any more. The EU banned it for regular consumers. The nearest thing I can find is Pistol and its for professional use only.

Would this work well to wash my road/gravel bikes after a muddy ride or would pressure be too weak?
    thesuitgamer's avatar
    thesuitgamer
Definitely too weak, it’s for spraying chemicals or water, Lidl do a cordless pressure washer for about £50 or £90 inc battery and charger.

Does this do a good job on sheds/fences?
    terriq's avatar

Yes very good for that, just make sure the substance your using can be used in a sprayer (normally say on it or tells you the water ratio to add) (edited)

Do sprayers have standardised wand fitting? Wondering if I can buy 3rd party wands to use with it.
  39. wavecrest1's avatar

If you need to extend the wand, 8mm aluminium tubing works well.
A 1 metre length is £6.80 in B&Q and a lot cheaper online
