So I've been looking at a Chromebook with only USB C for input/output (pictured below)would this be what I needed to connect it to my TV via HDMI, it doesn't mention Chromebook in the connectivity list ?

As far as I know the physical usb c connection is fine but the usb c port on the device outputting the signal has to be capable of displayport alt mode (DP Alt) as well.

Thats how it works on windows laptops anyway...not sure about chromebooks

(i.e. We' ve got a few low end Asus Vivobooks at home.....this would physically fit in the usb c port ...but the laptops dont support DP Alt mode at all....so we 'd never a picture on an external monitor /or tv)

Sometimes its not clear on the specs whether devices support DP Alt mode or not ....but if it doesnt say I normally assume the answers no....

This is what I use. Minimal difference except the price.

This one does only 4k/30hz or 2k/60hz compared to 60 and 120hz on the Ugreen.
