    Stacks up very well against other triple display FBA alternatives amazon.co.uk/s?k…;dc, but the Amazon search feature is not the best & only up to 4K@30Hz is supported on this one - not sure about the others costing 3 times & over. (edited)

    Would this work with a desktop if I had it connected using a USB extension cable to a standard USB 3 socket on pc?
    I don't need all the features this offers but handy for reading memory cards and flash drives.

    Should do. I have a similar dock, just be sure to get a decent usb c extender. I got a cheap one at first which didn't seem to support DP Alt Mode for video.
