I needed a new laptop and wanted something with 16gb ram, good display and a decent graphics card.

Saw this and looked at a few others think it was a decent deal not an expert in posting them but thought peoples opinions would be great.

    If this has good authentic colour repo and NITS of around 400... And chassis is durable with no wobble... My friends neighbours uncle said it would be a good lappy and deal.

    Why are high NITS and colour accuracy so important?

    Brightness(NITS):

    The higher the number of nits, the brighter the display. So a higher nits display is important if you're in a well lit room or if you're using your laptop outdoors during the day when there is more light, so therefore the brighter the screen the better your screen will look in a well lit area. (See image below for example)

    Colour Accuracy:

    Colour Accuracy is important especially if you're a photo/movie editor or graphics designer etc... Having a colour accurate display helps you achieve a "life like image".

    Any advice on how well this would run Microsoft Flight Simulator and at what quality it would achieve?

    It's incredibly difficult to tell. Nvidia are deliberately confusing with the laptop SKUs. Not only is a laptop 3050 not the same part as a desktop 3050, the laptop models have multiple different TDP levels which will masssively change the performance (and heat output) of the part.

    They can go anywhere from 35W to 80W. It looks like this one is 75W so you'll get about the best performance possible out of this silicon (but the fans might be loud when it's running).

    rtings.com/lap…022

    The laptop used here looks to have an 80W configuration of the same card. So performance should be maybe a couple of % worse in theory.

    Laptops are just a minefield of deliberate confusion when it comes to GPUs and performance.

    Anyone else get a delayed order processing message?

    Got a feeling my order been cancelled as my balance went up £566.19 earlier…

    Just had it confirmed as refunded by my bank. Still up on the website though, so not sure what’s gone wrong. (edited)
