This is a special offer for those with existing free 40/50/60GB account holders only. There is only few weeks left to take advantage, it expires on 01/09/2023.

Received this via email invitation and it also appeared on the ‘Pricing’ tab within my account.

Please note: When this deal was last posted over 2 months ago it was mentioned in the comments section to use PayPal as payment method. If paying by Card, once card expires Windscribe doesn’t allow updating card details or change of payment without opening new account thus losing special offer in the process.

A good option in windscribe is to choose a country of your choice for your vpn connection. It costs $2 per month, per country with no data limit. Also r.o.b.e.r.t. service is included in any plan. (edited)
    steviefyre1's avatar
When I tried to do this it says minimum $3 per month.

    Not a reliable company.
I’ve been a member since 2019,had 60gb free (earned that by referring others, tweets etc as they requested).they downgraded it to 30gb without any explanation .

I had an awful experience with sharks at surfshark - its in the name.

I am so glad I changed to windscribe. I am technically a light user as I hardly use more than a few gb a month now over 2 years - before I had a few devices but now lots, I am very happy

I have tried Roku Channel with american connections and it works, although their is not much to watch plus hardly have time

Family members have used it with Netflix and it works fine

Didn"t they say they'd offer the 50GB for as long as Putin was alive? (edited)
    rcom's avatar
They did, so if he goes tomorrow you lose the 50/60GB and the chance to take up the offer. Windscribe really is bad with their newsletters and attempts at humour, no idea if it's a Canadian thing or what.

I got the email but when I click the link there is no offer of £10 for the year for some reason
    rcom's avatar
You have to make sure you are signed in to your Windscribe account first, then click the link in the email.

I'm a lifetime pro user with also free 60gb. It's a decent VPN but probably not as good as it used to be. If use it with the firestick for those movies app, don't bother, links won't work or will be slow AF. I prefer VPN unlimited recently. The price is good but probably some other lifetime deals for other VPN wouldn't cost you much more.
    rcom's avatar
I've got both VPN Unlimited and Windscribe. Windscribe has been vastly better for streaming, can't comment on other uses.

Will the deal upgrade to Pro with a 60/50/40 gb limit or is it PRO unlimited download for 10 Dollars?
    rcom's avatar
You get the full Pro service, no bandwidth limits.

"Suddenly, our CEO burst into our lantern-lit conference room and yelled out "GIVE IT TO THEM FOR $10 A YEAR." "For life?" we asked, knowing how contentious that word had now become. "For as long as we or they are alive - and the user doesn’t cancel the plan,” he replied. The reaction was palpable. We looked at each other in disbelief… that’s about 83 cents a month for Windscribe Pro - the cheapest it has ever been. And it’s only available to our OG’est of OG users. It will never be available to anyone else. It cannot be shared, it cannot be posted anywhere and it’s exclusive so you must be logged into your 50/60 GB account to get the deal. This offer will only be available until September 1st, 2023, after that it’s gone forever."

From the email I got back in June... Yeah they really do talk like that in emails. (edited)

    Is winscribe any good?
    - Can I add Winscribe to my router so all my devices can be connected?
    - Security wise, as a neewb is winscribe one of the good ones?
    Danielle71's avatar
    Yes if router allows
Yes it's a great choice, also great for streaming from other markets like America..

"Next, we wanted to reiterate the explanation of our decision to do this. We are not happy that we are breaking the promise we made you. The decision to deprecate the lifetime free Big Gig plans was not an easy or pleasant one to come to. We know that many of you aren’t feeling very loved right now, and we completely understand that."

When you get this from a company, any company, owning up to the fact that it's quite prepared to break its contracts, you NEVER trust that company again. And you certainly don't pay it any more money!!!

Never again, Windscribe - you're simply not to be trusted. And if you can't be trusted on that, why should anyone trust you on any other claims?
    Professor_Chaos's avatar
Yep. As a company never make any rash promises you can’t sustain

One or two people were hesitant to take this offer when it was first announced, citing possible performance degradation relating to a large influx of new paid customers. Not noticed any difference myself and it seems better now than a few years ago when I had a 3 year sub.
    tuls85's avatar
Do you use this for Netflix? Does it work for getting other countries content in the UK?
  12. showstopper's avatar
They reduced mine from 50gb to 10gb
    Not a good company
    rcom's avatar
If you signed up for a disaster relief/war type offer (knowingly or unknowingly), they downgraded a lot of those for obvious reasons. Those that didn't use that type of offer had their 50/60GB restored. (edited)
  13. maxcovergold's avatar
Annoys me that I've been with them years on a cheap, but paid for 'build a plan' and never had any discounted pro offers, whilst they offer them regularly to free users
    OperateOnMe's avatar
Why not create a new account?
  14. alex_uk's avatar
I do have pro lifetime plan + free 50Gb per month account = decent vpn service, lifetime plan using for last 5 years at least - great saving as it was only £29 (edited)
    rcom's avatar
Let's hope they don't try and stop those paid lifetime subs, that really would finish off their reputation...

Apparently, some other VPNs have tried this on recently stating that "lifetime" actually means "5 years" in their view.
  15. iduno87's avatar
Hi, Does windscribe not work with skysports?
  16. Conkers816's avatar
I'm only on the 10gb free plan apparently otherwise I'd have had this for sure.
    dave.richardsonskV's avatar
    This Vs control d?
  17. bankbandit's avatar
I have this offer. But am I right in thinking that this price is only for a year? If so, then there's no telling how much it'll renew at, possibly at the standard rate. Essentially, Putin needs to expire in the coming year for this offer to be worth my while - an event that I think is highly unlikely.

I guess if you were eyeing the pro tier anyway, this is offers a good one-time saving.
    tuls85's avatar
It states - Billed $10.00 USD every 12 months so I am assuming it will renew at this price
  18. zombie_unchained's avatar
Get proton vpn . It's worth every penny.
    kusmiemat's avatar
I do have proton as well but in free version it is no use to me. However 10gb free windscribe is working perfectly . Main issue is NAT.
  19. IAmATeaf's avatar
Damn I just a few days ago paid around £56 for 3 years of Pro service thinking that was quite good
    rcom's avatar
If you were eligible for this you would have received the email a few months ago.
  20. Nazmul_Hussainq5B's avatar
I had a lifetime subscription for these guys. Someone kept hacking my account and in the end they just banned my account because they couldn't be bothered to reset my account. They don't reply to any emails. When it worked it was very good
  21. Ankur_Bhadra's avatar
I got a similar email and they offered me to pay £22 for pro per year which I opted considering it's a good offer. Gutted 😔 (edited)
  22. kyser143's avatar
Yep great deal and it's per year for lifetime at that annual price...anyone with 50/60gb accounts I would recommend upgrading... regards the PayPal or card payment issue...windscribe are changing the card prob so it shouldn't affect renewal of your card expires
    rcom's avatar
If they are updating the payment system so users don't have to cancel their subscription just to change card details, that's good. It's a pretty dumb setup they currently have.

Was that in an email, Reddit post, etc, or you contacted support?

I am wondering why people are upset if their free accounts get restricted. Very few businesses continue free stuff forever - Google has shut down many services like Reader (best RSS service), restricted the free space for Photos, is trialling blocking the YouTube accounts of those who use ad blockers, tried to end the G Suite Legacy free version last year, etc.

Yet, most of the people here can't live without Google and what it offers. Where is the outrage against Google?
    rcom's avatar
It simply boils down to the word "lifetime" which Windscribe said the free accounts with 50/60GB were. When you decide to take something away after stating that, you'd expect to get a negative response.

Not 100% sure but I don't think Google uses or has used the term "lifetime" for its products.
  24. Professor_Chaos's avatar
I have Windscribe free 30gb I think, but don’t recall getting this offer

scratch that. Just seen a link in the app offering it for £26.49 per year

tempted but I hardly use VPN and only need it for a week or to use Netflix until the geolock comes off (edited)
    rcom's avatar
30GB users are not eligable, which is why you never got an email, only the early 50/60GB users are eligable.
  25. jimbo001's avatar
    What's the deal? I'm on a free 60gb account.
    hotdealsuk1973's avatar
the deal is its 7.85 for a year for the pro version

i did sign up during one of those freebie offerings so i got 60bg but as i already have control d which works really well on apple tv thats why i think they offered me the 7.85 per year deal i'm still to sign up but will be doing so before the sept 1 deadline
  26. gary333's avatar
Anyone have/had the 60gb tier and upgraded to pro then let it expire? Did it return to previous 60gb after the pro expired? (edited)
    rcom's avatar
Not sure, but it's certain that if you take up this offer, you would lose it, because they've said so.
  27. Nick747a's avatar
I've just looked at upgrading states £26.49 which is still cheap
