If you want the 1:1 conversion, you'll need to make sure you have no active GPU on the account. You will not get 1:1 conversion unless you let any active GPU sub lapse first.
Top up your Xbox Live subscription up to a maximum of three years, and either redeem the offer for GPU on the dashboard, which will then invite you to convert, or redeem a cheap 7-day pass code and then redeem via redeem.microsoft.com (https://redeem.microsoft.com/) and you should be prompted to convert there also.

Using mobile? Just above the yellow continue button you should see a ^ symbol, tap that and you should be given an option to add the code

Use a Vpn ,switch to turkey and redeem as normal

All good now called Microsoft and they set it up for me
Bought 3 years for £74.22 (using code HTHINGS for 5% off)
Downloaded the Windscribe extension and loaded codes with no probs
On dashboard, could only join games pass by paying £10.99 for 1 month. It then auto upgraded to 13/11/24.
A bit more than original offer but I had to wait until today for our existing GPU to expire.

I'm fact in a thread not so long ago someone trying staying they were banned .....what they actually meant was they were banned from using rewards cause they used a Vpn to get rewards

it's two step verification, it's just checking you are who u say u are by sending a txt to your phone and u put the code that's on the txt in the next page after u press next , it then lest you proceed into your account

There are free VPNs available, the Windscribe Chrome browser extension is one. Install, click on the little W and then the globe icon, scroll all the way down to Turkey - Istanbul Ataturk. Apply the code to your Xbox account while in Turkey. Remember to turn it off again when finished, you don't need it to play. Read the comments above and convert to Game Pass Ultimate.

so you dont have to change the xbox wed store to turkey at any point? just keep it on uk and use a vpn when redeeming code?
You can but as you have GPU already each 12 months of Gold will give 4 months of GPU. Best bet is to wait until your GPU expires and then do this, or use some of the cheap 3 month GPU codes that have been posted here today.
Yes, no need to alter anything on your account. As long as the VPN is connected to Turkey just log into your MS account via redeem.microsoft.com

I would guess that when you entered the code for live gold it either didn't register or you were on another countries Microsoft page (for example chrome browser would take you to the US page and that's going to prove a right pain if you have..... check back on the Microsoft account page you went to...)
