I have always bought iPhones and thinking of changing do you think I should buy this one ?
    jamesturner280783's avatar
No. The performance of budget 4gb android phones ate poor. More than a couple of apps open and it won't like it. Iv made the same mistake a few times getting sub £200 phones with 4gb ram. One a xiaomi note 10 5g the other an honor something or other. Out the 2 the older honor phone ran better than the higher spec xiaomi. Now on a Samsung a54 8gb and just about cuts it. Only had a couple of hiccups amd slow downs in the few months iv had it.

Only 4GB of RAM with the awful Helio G88 and slow eMMC storage. This is going to be very slow. You're better off spending another £40 and getting the Moto G54.

Cheap isn't a bargain if it's terrible. (edited)

Good comment. With phones if you scrape the barrel and it's too slow and underpowered it isn't a good buy. Maybe ok for a young kid or an older person with basic requirements.....

Buy 12 of these is my advice

I'm sure the Helio G88 was also used on the Redmi 10 from 3yrs ago, and it really does need to be put out of it's misery now. I can't believe I'm doing it, but I'd actually recommend the Moto g32 for a tenner less at Argos and suchlike - at least it has a (poor) Snapdragon chip in it, and almost stock Android which will feel smoother than MIUI on this.

Purse friendly price for this decent handset. However it always makes one wonder if one should spend more money and look for at least 6gb ram or even hanker after 5G capability. But then as someone once said "economics is the basis of all social change" or words to that effect 🦋🔥

Under £100 is probably where this device should be tbh. But yeah, if you can stretch a little bit further, go for something with a bit more ram, as always a politely put comment from yourself, which I appreciate as always.

Nice mate.... you upgraded to Hyper OS yet on any of your devices.
Found it to be really good, very smooth.
Be aware if though if you have Lloyds banking apps like the Halifax or MBNA, for some reason their force closing on hyper os 🤷.

The specs on this are pretty garbage, but probably ok? I ran it on a OnePlus 3T only a year or so ago and it was fine (although that phone had 1.5x as much memory as this does, even though it was released nearly 8 years ago!)

Tempted but "SIM1 + Hybrid* (SIM or MicroSD)*Hybrid slot can be used either for a second SIM or a MicroSD card (1TB expandable)" is not for me.

My old phone had enough space for 2 SIM slots AND a MicroSD slot.
  22. LinaBell's avatar
This phone was originally priced at 199, so is it even more pricey than the Mi Note 12?
The hardware specifications for the Note 12 should be better
  23. freakstyler's avatar
I bought this with the Air Fryer deal back in October but ended up selling the phone as it had one of the worst screens I've seen on a recent smart phone. Colours were very muted, especially in dark mode and everything looked off in a side by side comparison with my Redmi 9. I will never touch another Xiaomi phone with an LCD screen after this.
  24. Intrepidity's avatar
The minimum RAM people should consider for an Android phone these days 8 GB. Its cheap because of that and also the dated helios procesor
    dkj255's avatar
4GB RAM is still ok if you're running stock Android and don't need to keep multiple apps running in the background. The two Motos I've got with 4GB each work just fine, though I'd like to see 6GB (a 50% increase) become the starting point.
  25. Gregme's avatar
Never had a problem with any of the two Xiaomi phones I've owned. Not for high end gaming or photography but then I have digital camera and games console. Voted hot
