I was just being a bit tongue in cheek because Xiaomi ARE one of the big boys

I don’t know the Samsung models, but I reckon they would be charging more like £300-350 for this with the huge battery, AMOLED etc. (edited)

Apple's marketshare is amazing given the price of their phones.

And the fact you get trapped in their eco system and pay Apple Tax on app purchases. But you have to appreciate the work that goes in to them, the guys knocking them out can have 16h shifts, living in cramped dorms, and in the past reports of kids doing the work.... Maybe because they have small hands 🤷

At least to help foxconn put those nets up to catch people throwing themselves out of buildings to get out. Maybe that's why you are paying such a premium for Apple :/ to help cover the costs of nets and not being allowed to have 20 workers sleeping in a single room dorm when sites are visited?

Hot! - wife got the Redmi Note 10 Pro 64GB deal for £219 a week ago and very pleased with it. Looks and feels
    quality.

So double the storage for £20 more great value IMO.

Can someone plz tell me what's up with miui at the moment. Like is it safe …Can someone plz tell me what's up with miui at the moment. Like is it safe and ok to use because I have seen quite a few ppl complaining of bugs that ruin the phone itself

There is a new miui 12.5 version rolling out across many models. I think depending on which model you get you may have a varying degree of issues from very few to more significant. I had a new release Redmi Note 10s which was on 12.5 out of the box and was pretty terrible. Very stuttery and lagging so I sent it back. I have since updated the Redmi Note 9t I already have to 12.5 and that was preforming poorly (but not as bad as the Note 10s) at first but seemed to settle down after a day or so. I haven't had a Note 10 Pro so I don't know how 12.5 runs on this model but others on here may be able to help.

There are issues with all miui builds using android 11 if you use third party launchers (such as Nova launcher) and gestures as the the gestures will not work. You can get around this using an app such as Fluid Navigation Gestures. I have also noticed some other on bugs on miui 12.5 on my phone such as if you change the 'Arrange Items in Recents' view to horizontal on the 'Home Screen' setting then it won't let you clear the ram memory. I have also noticed that despite xiaomi claiming miui 12.5 is 'lighter' and 'more efficient' it seems to be using between 300-500mb more ram than miui 12! Others may have noticed other issues on other models or none at all.

Generally these are irritating bugs which will probably get fixed in time. (edited)

So many different xiaomi phones, I'm up to my 2 year phone change and although I am/was a xiaomi convert having had the Mia1 and 9t as my last 2 phones, this saturation of so many different models is confusing me to the point of considering other brands. I know choice is good but choice within a company can be a bit too much for me.

It would down to the screen, AMOLED or a cheaper LCD. The Camera setup is quite a bit better too including software etc.

I've used both and would still pay the extra for the Note 10 Pro - epic value

Terrible durability (though is it really worse than other Xiaomi phones, at the price?) and overheating (depending on use) seem to be a problem with this model, which is a pity because the spec is good.

I first started noticing the overheating problem several weeks after the generally good reviews dropped that put this phone to the top of my shortlist, where up until then the biggest negative had generally been criticisms of the software. I was relatively impressed with the 4K video performance, at the price.

Then, with reviewers who had continued to use the phone as their daily driver, I noticed them sharing overheating messages from the phone, there are now a lot of forum threads about it, this especially applied to when using the camera in 4K for periods of more than several minutes, which probably rules the phone out for me, and playing games, look on Reddit, gsmarena, etc, for forum threads.

Suggested partial solutions included don't use a case, turn the screen brightness down, close apps that run in the background, and if more than an occasional gamer, look elsewhere.

Apparently things are a little improved since the miui 12.0.09 global update but people have been complaining about drop in performance, some have been sayig don't update to Miui 12.5 about which there seem to be quite a lot of complaints about performance drop.

There were also reviews showing how easy it is to snap the phone in half but - come on!!! - who does that?! And do people really put their phones in their back pocket and sit on them?

Anyway, at the price, as long as you're not an avid gamer or likely to use 4K video for prolonged periods, hot, imo.

I upgraded my Note 9T at the weekend to MIUI 12.5.2 and it has been running like a dog since then. Users on the Mii forums have suggested doing a factory reset before doing the upgrade. Maybe hold off until there is a more stable version released?

Awesome phone - took me a while to decide on but after ALOT of youtube reviews and looking at advice on here i bought it and its lived up to expectations, super fast, camera is awesome and the software is great unlike what others have said. Bargain at this price tbh, not sure why anyone would pay the ridiculous asking prices for the flagships which are barely any better.

If anyone wants the £15 off PM me. (edited)

same, a lot of conflicting info.
    Xiaomi site says DPD,
SMS came from DGC Logistics with a UPS tracking link...
between 10-14:30.. well its 15:00 and its not arrived, and according to the Xiaomi site, not even packaged yet
I dont mind waiting for it, but don't sent me messages saying when it will arrive that are a blatant lie!

edit.. confirmed the SMS was incorrect and the deliv will be by DPD, just not when they said, within 5-7 days apparently. (edited)

I reckon it depends on your experience with your last phone. My cheap (~£130) 2 year old Mi Max 3 is still going strong. Note 10 pro -elongated screen so the photos and videos are small but with black bars. You can enlarge but the top and the bottom will get cut off which can be annoying when watching gaming videos on YouTube. -brightness in Netflix looks artificially boosted, but when notification tab is pulled down video suddenly switches to excellent quality. - 60Hz/120Hz when I wanted to switch it on I realised it was already on... -no notification LED. - camera bump is quite big. -dark mode is inconsistent with white parts. - macro mode is in settings not on the main camera screen. There is many little things that make this phone slight downgrade to me, but this is my personal view. I recommend you try it as photos are very good, OLED screen is bright and colours are excellent, The speakers are very loud and clear. Definitely worth trying.

4k and gaming is an issue with a lot of phones though no? I've known my phones warm up and drain battery, even shut itself off if do either of these things. How is camera for photos overall? I don't really use video or game, am looking for replacing battered pixel 2 and don't want to spend too much, 4a still seems pretty pricey to me at 299 but could get this rn10 Pro for ~180 with coupons and points.
