Sofa beds are best only for occasional use, not for constant use, as the slats / tarpaulin is not strong enough for constant use. Try to get a full foam mattress NOT a coil type as the coils are very weak and offer insufficient support.
All the 'major' retailers sell the SAME sofa beds with different covers/ warranties, but the mechanism is exactly the same.
I went on holiday with renting apartment for a week. The sofabed was IKEA with foam mattress which comfortable enough.
I would also recommend a mattress topper for the mattress as it will give u a decent night's sleep.

Not what you asked but bear with me - my small room has no space for a permanent bed. Couldn't find a sofa bed that was comfortable enough to use every night, so chose this Jay-Bee U bed with 6 inch spring mattress for £300. That was 5 years ago, so 1,500 nights at least. Sleep like a log and no regrets.
