Why do I need a VPN subscription?

Have seen lots of people mention VPN

There is a good topcashback VPN deal available at the moment.

If I bought this, what could I use it for?

- is it any better than the free HOLA browser VPN?

One would suggest that if you don't know then you don't need it.

A virtual private network (VPN) is an encrypted tunnel that allows a client to establish an internet connection to a server without coming into contact with internet traffic. It masks your network activity from your ISP. You can also use it to spoof your geographical location , allowing you to access geo-locked web sites & offers.

    Fight club

It should be similar to hola but more secure. In the old days talk of hola using your resources (which you agree to as it is a peer to peer vpn... Others share their connection and you share yours) for botnet attacks. But waa years since I last used it. (edited)

Golden rule - It's never a good deal if you need to find a use for it

I feel that should be the strap line under the HotUKdeals logo!

VPN hides your isp. Good for signing up to cheap Netflix pretending to be in Turkey

Good for hiding your isp when visiting dodgy sites
