sorted byThe Bluetooth is quite limited. You can use the using the app assuming you are in Bluetooth range.
Once you get the hub you can add dimmers, sensors etc. which connect through WiFi and change on your lights while you are away from the home.
The idea with the bluetooth is to get people started, then they can purchase the hub at a later date when they want more features.
I personally like hue but if you don't want the hub there are plenty of other great smart bulbs that don't need one.
Free Unlimited 3 month deal but there are exceptions to the offer

These will work for you. Bluetooth is just there for people who don't want the hub.

I already have the hub and assumed these new ones wouldnt connect to an existing hub as they are bluetooth. Is that a wrong assumption then and these bulbs would fit in seamlessly with my existing setup?
U need the hub for that
Ok. Thank you
Are you sure? Last time I tried this they said NO because I had already used a music offer
They work on hub also
Yes
These are the newer style warm white Bluetooth bulbs. So neither of what you said.
For some reason the ambiance ones don’t seem to be in any of the deals
They will be 806 lumens whether they are the warm white or the cool white. Amazon sell the twin pack cool white (4000k) so I would have thought that this is the cool white. The cool white is rated at 10 watts while the warm white is rated at 9 Watts for some reason but since both are 806 lumen they should give off the same light.
These bulbs are the equivalent of the old 60w incandescents so should be fine for a small room unless you want a really bright room.
Yes but here you also get Plum colour Echo Dot.

max 9w
wattage equivalent 60 W
Also would the bulbs work with dimmer switch or is the bridge required for the dimmer switch to work (edited)
Argos links here. They are really hard to find without the links. But also add the show 8 if you want that deal instead.

I don't see 3 months of music unlimited
mentioned anywhere in description of Echo. Does it automatically start when eco is installed? Do you needed to activate it?
It says they send you and email to invite you to participate once you set it up.
Read about it here

Brill! Thanks so much.
You are right, they wont send you an email with the offer if you've been with them before. Only for first timers I reckon.

What do you mean compatible? Any echo can be used on the same network
