These are all return controllers from customers like me. Had 2 from them. Same fault. A button needs hard press, this can also be the case with X, B and Y too. Google the faults on these.

Do not buy. Only buy brand new and hope for the best. (edited)

I bough one 2 weeks ago, found out that it had a stick drift issue but luckily it still had one year warranty with Microsoft when I registered it. So I RMA to Microsoft. They sent me a replacement one in 2 weeks after I sent them the ware house one.

My 2 cents. I ordered 2 from amazon warehouse during their last sale. One was okish, but had a sticky A button and the classic sticky shoulder button. I could have fixed those myself, obviously not worth the risk though. The second had stick drift, and still had (has) 6 months msoft warranty. Sticky button one went back and refunded. Stick drift went to msoft and replaced with another one that had a stick issue... Which went back. They replaced it with one that seems great. I have noticed the rumble motor has a different buzzy feel to my old ones though, so debating if it's worth returning yet again.

Nice pads to use though, paddles are good, battery life and little charging Dock is great.

I think I'd be waiting for another £90 new deal like the Dutch one personally, warranty is worth it.

Yeah like new comes up if you filter it like the man said.

    Click on ‘other sellers’

Then set filter to ‘like new’

The prices are £105 with 20% applied at checkout

The fact that these haven't gone out of stock yet sure paints a picture on overall quality/reliability.
Amazon must have hundreds of these returned from new just sitting in their warehouse.

That is exactly my experience too. Bought one brand new a couple of months ago and one of the paddles only registered when pressed in very hard. Got another, and that one had X and Y buttons that only worked when pressed hard and dead centre.
Terrible quality for such an expensive product.

If you buy one, keep in mind you are almost certainly going to have to go through the effort of returning to Microsoft or Amazon and asking for a replacement. (edited)

Isn’t really a deal as these are around the £80 mark normally... Amazon put their prices up earlier in the week to over £100

pretty risk free I would say. I mean its free returns until the end of January and as says you can always rma to microsoft directly. The amazon invoice does not say that this is a warehouse item. The msrp is around £155. Not seen them new below £100 on Amazon, although they were on offer briefly from MS Netherlands last week for £90ish with a fee free card (edited)

Bought one a few months ago when there was a deal £65 same grading "like new damaged packaging" and it was absolutely perfect. No signs of it ever being opened. Worth a punt, and then either return to Amazon if you end up getting a dodgy one. MS to be fair honour the warranties on these and people from the last deal were getting replacements direct from MS instead of refunding via Amazon.

Actually, BUY..... then if they do have a fault (yes a lot will!) just return them to Microsoft direct as they WILL still be under warranty (mine had 14 months left of the 2 year warranty). Microsoft replace them with a new/refurbed one within 2 weeks. Mine came back absolutely perfect as new, and serial numbers were swapped on 'my devices' with the new one, and a new warranty period.

They don’t, they cost £160 normally and worth every penny!! I can’t play with a normal controller now.

If you don’t have an Xbox there’s no point saying why they are good, but once you try one there is no going back. Luckily mine has been fine for over a year with at least 3hrs a day use.

I bought 2 from the Netherlands deal a few days ago, and my nephew also bought one. All 3 have button issues, my 2are going back for refunds; I am just not prepared to play a quality lottery at that price point. At £85+ I expect way, way better - and at the MSRP the quality is just a joke.

yes arrived today, box bashed up a bit but controller is mint, all accessories included. Tested out and seems perfect. Registered with MS and has full year warranty. Mine was "used very good".

I bought a Series 2 controller brand new earlier this year, 4 months later the right trigger packed in and stopped working. It's a real same because they're nice controllers, but the quality is sub par at best.

Mine came today it was one that was “Like New”. It has warranty cover until December 2022 and it’s absolutely immaculate no missed button presses and zero stick drift, well worth it. I was a bit anxious after the horror stories but I personally had the complete opposite experience.

Bought one ‘used like new’ £85 and another ‘used good condition’ £80. Both currently working perfectly and feel great. Both look like new, no marks or signs of use. Both boxes had once been opened, but not super damaged. Both had all accessories, cases, lead was perfect. One had less documentation than the other. Both Bluetooth and connect fine with PC. Both had all buttons responsive during input tests. No stick drift on either, L2 R2 button lock functions and additional back paddles working great on both.

Awesome thanks for sharing this Joey!

I'd personally always stick with like new for an arguably (on the whole) smoother experience.

I’ve just returned one that was a warehouse purchase. Got cold feet when I could get one new from Microsoft for a similar price. Admittedly the extra 20% off makes this potentially a good deal but there’s a risk with returned items.

I recently bought an xbox elite controller from warehouse. Seems brand new to me, was an old profile to overwrite but other than that didn't even have a finger print. Nothing wrong with it at all. Maybe I got lucky, but best bargain I had in a while.

I was tempted; but upon researching this controller I saw the apparent failure rate and decided against it. If you're lucky and can RMA it to Microsoft you have to ship it off, wait for the replacement. I had an xbox one controller fail on me (sticky Triggers) and so was without a controller for a couple of weeks as the old one had to go back to Germany. :/ (all paid for by Microsoft but it's 2 weeks without controller if you don't have a spare).

It's a shame as they look like really nice controllers, maybe M$ will have 3rd stab at it one day...

true but the problem for me is that MS know fine well the controllers have a fundamental problem so are happy to keep letting me make warranty claims until the warranty runs out and then I'm on my own (with a faulty product).

They're basically passing around faulty controllers to buyers who claim on the warranty.

Apparently it’s a known fault on all of them but folks just stick with it and don’t kick a fuss. Even when you send it to Microsoft repairs, they don’t address the button fault, only stick drifts. I guess the folks that don’t have issues with the buttons tend to mash hard at them?

No, any and all items sold by Amazon warehouse have a 12 month warranty.

Besides, as mentioned earlier - MS has no way of knowing you bought this item used, the invoice you get from Amazon doesn't say it was a warehouse item.
