About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
At Samsung you can get £150 off the s8 by trading in your android tablet, couple that with the code S8BASE100, to get the S8 in gold colour only for £399, which is still a cracking price for a £649 tablet, but obviously not the lowest it has been recently, this is actually cheaper than the student site whereby you can't use the code

sorted byThe TFT is still pretty impressive, clear, sharp and nice to watch content on. Added bonus is that it has adaptive refresh rate, as a result impressive battery life.
The AMOLED panels have more intense blacks and punchier colours, but it's only obvious when you have the two next to each other. AMOLED lacks the adaptive function, you choose between 120Hz or 60Hz (although there is a paid app that allows you to hack that function).
This system was badly messed up when the S22 and S8 was launched. I didn't receive anything through the post and when I called, I was told these should have been included in the parcel for the new devices (Samsung apparently changed the system in 2022). I was promised I will now be sent the packs, but just got the prepaid postage labels via email and ended up sending them just a day before the "your device will be locked" message started flashing on my tablet; fortunately, both my trade in devices were delivered within a day to the Essex address and the warning went away. The folks at the recycling service provider were very nice & professional and it was obvious Samsung had dropped the ball badly.
So, check the box for the new device to see if this is included. If not, wait for a few days to see if you get it in the post. Otherwise, call the number that will be given in the trade in email. (edited)
People have 14 days for the trade in devices to be delivered (not send) from the time they got the new ones. The first warning email comes after 7 days and it has the phone number for the service provider. The warning message popped up on day 12, I posted on the morning of day 13, it was delivered on day 14 with an email the same evening saying the device has been received (this email switches off the lock). The new device locks up after day 14 without this "we got it" email unless you can send proof of posting. There was another email a few days later saying the process is complete; this email is basically to decide if the trade in device was accepted or not for the discount. (edited)
You'll receive a trade-in pack through the post. It usually arrives a couple of days either side of you receiving your order. Comes with all the instructions, delivery labels, posting bag etc. You'll be given the choice of pre-paid via Royal Mail or you can pay for special delivery.
Amazon Fire is an android tablet yes. And it counts.
...with the TFT panel model, the fingerprint scanner is on the top left power button - whether that's a plus or not, is your call, d'ya prefer tap on screen or on the button to unlock device?
Another benefit of the smaller unit, is that the associated accessories cost less. Flipside is that either type of case/keyboard are more cramped to type on (could always get a BT Smart Keyboard Trio 500) when MyMemory or sometimes Samsung run a promo for it at sub £20.
(MyMemory have it on at discount more often, but it's US layout). (edited)
Not with Samsung.
Currys on the other hand, might be a different ballgame.
The trade-in process is separate to the purchase.
When you submit a trade-in request, there's a number generated that ties back to your online request (where you've provided your BACS details for the funds to be deposited).
I'm not 100% certain whether Currys cross reference a trade-in with a purchase you have made with them.
If it's the case they don't cross ref, you could buy a handful of grade C functioning tablets ~£15 each on eBay (quite a few Alcatel Pixi 4's listed) and send them in, each under their own trade in request for £100 a pop. If that works, you could in theory get as many GalTab S8's as you wanted for nothing provided you were willing to do the legwork required.
Double check the T&C's about any clauses on the device you are sending in. Last time I read it, the device had to be:
- uncracked screen
- capable of connecting to WiFi
- capable of remaining powered on without external power source for at least 15 minutes
- no more than 8 years old (GSM Arena is your friend) (edited)
Yeah look... I think as soon as I typed that I thought to myself "what are you even saying you numpty..."
I've two old tablets here and just got excited!
This one was a bit crackers.

If you add a Galaxy Fit 2 watch it will bring basket total down to £430.38 (you get a further 10% discount on both items). Therefore, for £430.38 (using the £150 Trade In) you get the Tab S8 for £390.69 and Fit 2 watch for £39.69.
Main difference is screen size and quality, also the S and ultra have bigger batteries (needed for amoled screens), the S pen is BT with gestures in the S and Ultra, Ultra has twin selfie cameras.
Best value depends on what you want, my Ultra from Currys will cost me £520-£600 (depending on cashback payout), in my eyes that is much better value than £400 for the S8. Others will disagree and say you don't need OLED or a massive screen and the S8 is better value. (edited)
We aren't all as switched on as you first thing in the morning... plus it's a Friday. Give me some breathing space 😮💨
Bet you were the first one in the office today.
You alright?
Free A8 tablet when purchasing the S8+ (edited)
Thanks 🏻
Aha, comprende seniore
Nope!!
ALWAYS!
I'm an early bird
Ooh, I will be interested to see if this works out. I have an old Fire HD 7 that is slower than molasses that I'd love to trade in (even Amazon don't include it on their £5 trade in programme!)
Yes but you don't send the case.
Got an old Fire 7" tablet which should hopefully qualify as a trade-in.
Not £440? Or did you go 256?
I've also had £20 Quidco track
Just ordered mine, they're getting a Nexus 10!
Hope it still holds charge..
Didn't read how to actually get it to them, presume instructions come with the delivery.. (edited)
Opted for the 256. Got too excited to go via Quidco but glad I did as I'm now not able to get beyond applying the trade in discount on the site.
I'm too hoping the instructions about where to send my old tablet is in the confirmation emails 🤞
Check through my recent deals mate I truly forget
Ah okay did see that but not after the watch so didn't factor in its value
Checked via Perks at work before I ordered this morning and the cheapest I could achieve was £434 (£584 for tablet less £150 trade in). Code for this deal wouldn't work, and actually put the price up!
Gold: gross Android: double gross
Ha ha I hope so as that's what I'll be sending their way. Found it while looking out the Fire tablet I was gonna send originally. But there's no stipulation about age, screen size etc. Only that it isn't damaged, holds a charge that sort of thing so shouldld be fine. (edited)
Yes it was sent in a plastic bag not a box, i complained that a £1k tablet should have been better protected.
When did you order if you don't mind me asking?
Also, how are you finding it so far?
