sorted bythe other thing is having the pointy end of the chopstick pointing at someone as they lay rest on your bowl (considered rude)
i don't find this bowl to be that disagreeable with chinese or south-east asian customs like you imply. though it would be best practice to, if they must be on the bowl, to the right side. but the basics are - dont cross, dont stab, and dont point. and that's plenty enough for an englishman [or woman] (edited)
What an odd website though.
