It's that time of the year again, Microsoft's annual Ignite Cloud Skills Challenge is now open for registration.

How does this work? Simply complete one of the seven available cloud skills challenges and earn a free Microsoft Certification exam voucher for one of the following exams:


No matter how many Microsoft Learn Cloud Skills Challenges you complete, you can only earn one free Microsoft Certification exam

The free Microsoft Certification exam voucher will be delivered by November 18, 2022 and will expire on February 15, 2023. You must complete your exam before this date. Microsoft highly recommend booking your exam at least one week in advance. Please refer to the official rules for full details.

    Many employees of big companies with Microsoft E3 and E5 enterprise agreements get these free. You may want to check if your employer does, as it may give you a wider range of certs to try for...

    I have taken my az-900 and wanted to move onto the associate level certifications.. I think az400/305 offered above are both expert level certifications? or can we redeem for the az-1xx/2xx associate certifications too?

    When you complete the challenge you will get a voucher for one of the listed exams. You can’t use it on the az104 or 204 exam. I was hoping the 104 would be one of them this time

    How does this work, do you register and then come the 12th you can select a course to do?

    There's usually a little 'challenge' to do (e.g. read some articles and answer a few questions). You can usually Google all the questions.

    The times will be different for each one. Been a while since I did one but think they give you a rough ETA for each module within the challenge.
    If you're doing it for the free exam, then you may as well just do 1 and leave it at that, you don't get anything for completing additional challenges and it's limited to 1 free exam.
