If you charged this up at work, how many uses would it need to to pay for itself? I'm thinking about powering my work from home laptop from it here.
    omgpleasespamme's avatar
It never would. The batteries inside would degrade to the point they wouldn't hold charge before you came close to abstracting enough electricity to pay for it. If you want to try to get enough electricity from work to pay for the device you're using to transport it you'll need something that holds 1 kilowatt hour of electricity and has lithium iron phosphate cells inside good for thousands of cycles. Because it'll take years of lugging something that weight kilos to and from work.

Edit: Someone below did the maths and they were out by many, many years. Assuming you're in the office for 200 days a year it'd take something like 16 years assuming the cost of electricity stays the same in that time. That's best case because it doesn't factor in the inefficiencies of voltage transforming nor battery degradation. Using this for a full cycle every day will likely make this junk just after a max of 2 years. (edited)

    Why? This seems so overpriced.

140W power delivery isn't cheap. Most power banks offer about 20W so you can't charge a laptop. This will charge many laptops even whilst using them.

cheers added to my wish list (edited)

Fantastic powerbank, super fast charges from 0-100 in no time, GANPrime technology is what makes this "expensive" but its seriously worth the price. When you use a ganprime charger you'll wonder why you didn't switch sooner, promise. If your devices support "super" fast charging then this is for you.

I Charge my tab s8+, s22 ultra and xps on the go with no issues, includes a 140w type c cable too. Obviously this is not for everyone, it will not fit in your pocket but is fine in a small daypack. Reviews say it's heavy but if it is in your bag you won't really notice it.

Highly recommended. - Check Amazon Warehouse as I got this 'Like New' for £75 a few weeks ago.

    HOWEVER;
If you are not charging laptops or devices that dont support super fast charging then I would definitely recommend saving your money and buying something cheaper.

    excellent comment

this isn't for everyone but it does what it does better than most

people are comparing this to normal run of the mill power banks most of these can't charge a laptop like a macbook this can charge at 140w

this isn't really for charging your iphone it can but its more for laptops and other high powered gadgets.

whether its really what you need thats another matter and is a personal choice

    heat added thanks for posting

By high drain charging, do you mean laptops?
  7. channel_dave's avatar
People talking about this charging laptops. Get a better laptop :/
    BenDest's avatar
Or get more laptops so if one runs out of charge you can throw it away and use the other one!

£99 for a portable charger & heat? Am I missing something

    140W output.
  9. k9plus1's avatar
What's the point of a 140w battery pack? Quicker charging?
Even if it were to charge larger devices, the relatively small capacity will only charge your laptop to a fraction of capacity.
    sheffield788's avatar
Not for quicker charging. If your device charges at 30w max, that's what you'll get, not 140w.
I guess some want to use the power bank with their laptops and in general to have a power bank that works with everything. My laptop charges at 65w, so I use a 60w power bank. Some laptops charge at 100w, so this may be handy. And it can be used with other devices too.
Laptop batteries are not as big as you may think. Some have less mAh than some phones. However, it is not about mAh, it is about Wh. But still, a 20,000 mAh power bank is more than sufficient. (edited)

You don't need 140W to charge a laptop, my 16 Inch Macbook pro will happily run and charge off this 22.5W charger amazon.co.uk/Tec…6YY
    twe's avatar
It doesn't work like that all the time unfortunately. For example my work laptop stops the charge if the flow is too slow and gives a nice warning message in the taskbar.

49254329-fIUzB.jpgGot this on a fantastic lightning deal a while back.
My use was to power my Samsung freestyle projector.
I found it's very good at charging itself quick however did seem drain quickly too.
Anyways I found out that 50w Xiaomi powerbank was enough for my purpose and seem keep charge longer than this.
This might be excellent for high power intensive use cases. It also can do trickle charge your low powered gadgets such as earbuds.
I ended up returning it as couldn't keep 2 different powerbank.
I should have just sold it on eBay
    sheffield788's avatar
You've got it at a very good price. Can I ask how long it lasts when using the projector? Thanks.
I don't think it matters with the projector that it is 140w, a 50w+ will do too. The capacity is quite important if used with a projector.
  12. zackkr's avatar
Does this come with a 140w charger or they assume your slow charge it or pay a fortune extra?
    sheffield788's avatar
It comes with 2 just in case if you lose one of them. And they also give you a laptop too, so you have something to charge with the power bank .
Hope you don't take seriously this comment 😃

That looks just the job for charging the Mavic 3 batteries in the triple charger that I will be shortly getting. Should keep me topped up in between jobs
    JustMarky's avatar
unfortunately it will not work with the M3 triple charger due to some voltage issue, works fine with the Mini 2 triple charger or charging the individual battery whilst inside the Mini 3.

I can vouch for this. I powered my DeLorean with this. Managed to come back to the future without the need for a flux capacitor. Let me add, enjoy 2023 because 2033 is a pie hole!

Cold. I bought 30,000 mAh which not only is smaller but it also cost less. My Steam Deck me are very happy.
    Gorillasan's avatar
The point here is flying orange made a cold claim with vague information without ever providing any link/name/model/output. Anyone can say they bought better item for cheaper.

I could be wrong here. Most powerbank I've seen give the cell capacities at its native voltage. These cells are usually (always?) lithium based poly or ion, and have a nominal cell voltage of 3.7v. This get converted to 5v USB spec (and higher for various charging protocols). So you'll lose about a third of the headline capacity for that conversion to 5v,and no conversion is free, you lose another % for that... Usually less than 10% but not by much. That 24000 headline becomes 15000 odd in reality. All banks are like that though.

This one's headline spec is 140w output. That's enough to charge multiple fast devices at once, like a couple of laptops. I don't think there's enough juice in the tank to make that particularly useful. How long can it charge stuff at 140w? Maybe for 35 mins if you don't mind it going completely dead. Maybe.

Personally, I just can't see the value unless your use case is something that particularly needs 140w for a short amount of time. Drone battery's maybe? Dunno.

As an alternative, this Haniz, which is Ravpower, may tick some boxes. Not exactly the same, but half this price. And I've seen it at £30. But goes OOS quite quck.

I have used many power banks over the years, I bought this one back in September and used it to power my steam deck on a 10 hour flight to Seattle, since then I have used it a number of times to charge everything from iPads, phones to laptops with no problems at all (and super quick to charge and unload). Just a shame that its 50 quid cheaper now but thems the breaks (thanks boris)

    Hiya

Just going through old posts and found this. Quick Question - did you have any issues taking it on the plane as carry on?

    thanks

These turbo chargers are a big swizz because they seriously degrade battery lifespan of both the power bank and the device they are charging.
    Gh0st1's avatar
Could you elaborate please? Interested in why they this is the case, is it all portable power banks?

Baseus 65w is a great alternative 30000mah if you don't need superfast

Would something like this be better? £130 100 watt output and includes a 40 watt solar panel.

If you are expecting it to fit in your pocket then definitely, otherwise no it isn't.

I have one of these. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit. Charges very quickly at 100W, also charges your devices so quickly because it can output 100W too.

Loads of clever ideas in this post. My mate Dave just thought of a genius one I thought I'd share:

    Buy two.
Charge them both to max V-core power.
When charger 1 one dies use charger 2 to charge charger 1 back up. Then when 2 dies use charger 1 to charge 2.
This way you can literally keep charging to infinity and beyond.
