Absolute horror classic...

Divorced Vietnam veteran turned postman Jacob Singer (Tim Robbins) is disturbed when he begins to be plagued by bizarre and violent hallucinations, both of the family he has abandoned and a bloody battle he could not previously remember. So strong are the images that the line between past and present, real and unreal, begins to dissolve.

Saw it in the cinema when it first came out with 3 other friends. When it finished, we sat in a daze for 10 mins. One of my top ten films.

Same. Me and my mate went for a pint afterwards. Not a word spoke for at least 20 minutes. Think we were both comatosed

Brilliant film, I haven't seen it in years. I must rake my dvd out... (edited)

    Also watched as a child.
Turns out this was not some whimsical tale about some young fella going on adventures with a ladder.

Adrian Lyne also directed another fantastic film, Unfaithful, with Richard Gere. Highly recommended...
