Do these fast chargers have the tendency to deplete battery efficiency over a period of time?

Phones with Li-Po batteries instead of Li-Ion will have more charge cycles, last longer at useful capacities as well as being a safer technology. This is more important than the charger used. Many phones have smart battery management where they will charge at their maximum input power only while temperatures are in a safe range and at certain charge levels. They greatly reduce the charging speed when they get to 80% capacity.

Modern phones negotiate the charge rate so it's best to have a charger that is slightly higher than the phones maximum and a charger that supports the various quick charging standards like PD 3.0 and QC. The phone can then negotiate the voltage and amps and get the highest watts for charging. A modern phone with battery management shouldn't have a negative effect by using a higher capacity charger, but they won't always/ever use that available power so no point spending extra on a 65 watt charger if your phone is 18 watts max.

I see they’ve relisted this — all the reviews of it catching fire and/or falling apart and exposing mains must have hurt sales

I had one which melted and another which tripped my fuse box repeatedly!

This is still a live deal.
I've just purchased it for 6.99 by checking a £3 off the cost of £9.99 voucher on the product page.
    Hope this helps someone 🐾

I will never buy any charger off Amazon. It's become a Chinese marketplace and a massive drop in quality.

I bought a cheap one recently and it quite literally screams. Useless if it’s in the room you sleep in.

Are they still calling 20w fast charging, lol! My last 2 phones have had 67w and 80w fast charging.

They'll keep calling it fast until they're legally not allowed to but as the marketing is virtually unregulated, I won't be holding my breath!!

I wouldn't have this if it was free. Always go with a recognised and respected brand name when it comes to chargers, it's just not worth the risk for the sake of a few quid!!
