sorted byI don’t like these fish fingers, but I’ll count my blessings others have the opportunity to choose how to eat tonight. (edited)
That said my local Tesco seems to leave all the frozen food on cages in the aisle to the point it's defrosting onto the floor so possibly it smells bad for the same reason the ice creams are deformed. (edited)
Aldi Fish Fingers are much better in my opinion.
All tastes the same or near enough
Since Covid i have refused to buy Birds Eye
Literally £10 a box of 30 now, which is absolutely ridiculous lol
Id much prefer £3 for 50 (edited)
If you prefer Birdseye fish fingers it might just be that you don't really like fish
If you're from the coast you'll know
Even betterer
Cheap fish fingers are ok once in a while for a lazy meal and they actually have more protein per 100g than the more expensive brands, it's cheap meat that worries me far more than reformed 'fish bits'! (edited)
Not that actual fish fingers are much better now, they always use the part of the fish that has the grey line in now, which makes them awful, rather than the nice white part of the fish.
The process is that the (sterile) machines that the fillets go through have sections where ‘spare’ fish that is shaved off get collected and put in a machine with a perforated drum where they are added a bit like water to a washing machine through the holes, which means only the main fish bits get through, though there are obviously other parts that can be mixed with this from time to time (not on purpose), although that’s the same with modern machined fillets. It’s not like people make the millions of fish fillets that go into these products by hand any more…
