REVIEWS

Metacritic (82)

“A loving tribute to a genre milestone. The Command and Conquer Remastered package does exactly what it needs to do for fans of the classic real-time strategy game, which is exactly what a classic of this stature deserves.”
Polygon

“One of the most definitive remaster packages to date”
VG247

“Command and Conquer Remastered is one of the best modernisation efforts I have ever seen. A stone-cold classic that now holds its own against modern strategy games.”
Eurogamer

Shame there's still no news of a Red Alert 2 remaster. Was really hoping they'd continue to remaster all of the classics.

The developer has been busy with a new game, The Great War, which was just released, so hopefully we'll get some news about future C&C remasters in the next few months.

Stupid question as I dont use steam much (once only and that was about 8 years ago!)
Does this require a subscription or do you own the game since then?

Buy the game via Steam, it’ll be added to your Steam library. You will need to download the Steam application to access the game but you do not have to pay a subscription.

Amazing game! Hours of gameplay for all the missions and covert ops etc. Best value ever. The only slight gripe I have is the default steam deck layout isnt great and although you can adjust it, It was a bit fiddly but they also have community layouts to try. I played this back on the PS1 and wanted to relive that controller layout but really struggled to match it but it's still playing amazing with the upgraded graphics

Anyone know the best price for Red Alert 2 these days? A friend was looking to buy it but said he could only find it as part of a pack with all the other C&Cs for around £20 something..

I bought the origin version the other weekend for my dads PC so my nephew who was staying could play but no matter what we tried, ever since the forced EA new app, it just never worked...ended up getting the free versions for him to play to get some practice. Gonna get this so if one don't work, the other should.

Same here. I've got no intention of getting a Windows machine ever again, but I'm still tempted to buy it for £2.69

Massive memberberries for the original Red Alert.

Install it on you PC with Steam. Then you could use Steam Link app to play it on the tablet. Though not sure how well it will work. Would need the PC switched on and on the same network.

I have bought every version of c&c/RA they've churned out, and whilst this one is way better than the laughable EA/Origin pack (i.e. it actually works), it's still not great. The various fan made hacks or open source OpenRA are better. OpenRA in particular.
