The plastic lid can be broken if dropped then it becomes useless

    Don't drop it then.

The rubber seal in the rim of the lid likes to fold over itself when twisted tight which causes it to leak....

The new autoseal model is much better and there for sale at tkmax for £12 (edited)

A great travel mug. Mine was cheaper, but a tenner is very reasonable.

I have this and its great. Doesn't fit under my coffee machine though so I need to hold it at an angle while the coffee is being made. Gor the bodum.one from here the other say and that fits but is a little too small to hold.my regular coffee. On the hunt for one in between. Really hate having to hold.the Cup while the machine does its thing on work mornings.

They (Contigo mugs in general) do a fantastic job of keeping drinks hot OR cold, but be advised that they don't react well to the pressure of carbonated drinks...in time, and (up till last year) the lid could not be replaced...so I found, this is why Contigo A1 CS gave me a free replacement mug.

This or the 2.0 version? Both for £10 on amazon with the same description however on company site it states that the 2.0 has 7h hot and 14h cold.

Treated myself to two of these as my fancy joules cup I used only kept a cup of tea warm for up to 45mins… no better than a normal cup. This is a game changer- I can make a brew at 9am when I get into work and it’s still hot by lunchtime!

mine keeps hot drinks hot enough to enjoy for minimum 4 hours - I ignore the instructions to leave the lid off for 3 mins before sealing if I want it scalding hot

I like their other model, which has a large release button on the back of the mug.

Yep, the other model is miles better for longevity.

I've had one for 4 years, been dropped and thrown in a bag every work day for years and still going strong.

Had mine over 6 years. Still going strong with no leaks or damage. If I'm off on a longer journey I let it stand full of hot water for a couple of minutes before filling with coffee. Warming the inner metal seems to help it stay warmer for longer (edited)

I have had the slightly older model for 6 years now. It's brilliant! I would suggest getting the stainless steel one as the ones that are different colours don't age well(at least the older model, they might have addressed that issue), the paint peels off and Keep in mind that it's a bit of a faff to wash the lid by hand as it's got a lot of little nooks and crannies. I just stick mine in the dishwasher and it comes out nice and clean every time. Considering buying another one of those (edited)

If it was owt like the two I've had, I'm not surprised there was daylight through the drinking hole when it was closed

I have two of these and they keep my coffee warm for several hours. I use it daily for work. I took one for the journey to Blackpool at the weekend and it was still mostly full at 9:30am when we got there; it was still quite warm and drinkable (not hot) when I returned to the car at 6pm.
