I can't believe this is so hot, it's what samsung used to give away for free 6 years ago, i have several lying in a drawer that don't get used.

scrApple started removing them to save cost. others will follow the practice too 🤷🏾‍♂️

    15w isn't great.

It is if your phone only charges at 15 Watts.

Amazon text says input voltage 120v, so may go bang
    add1ct3dd's avatar
Amazon descriptions are often wrong - what country uses this plug on 120v? Nowhere.

Is it the watts or the amp which determine fast charge, I think its the amp , ie 1A or 2A current that is drawn which makes a difference in charging time. Can someone through light on this watt vs amp ?
    jujuzeez's avatar
voltage outputted plays a role too, amps (especially) determine the speed.

    Power(watt)=VxI (edited)

Pointless buying a 15w charger in my opinion, spend a little more and get a 25w or even better a 45w, your devices may not support 45w but new devices probably will if they're farely new. (edited)

50226415-7fDCb.jpg45w is a bit larger and heavier than the 25w. Annoyed that the cable is so much thicker, it's less tactile. First world problems...

45w charges my s8 tablet about a third faster than the 25w... Nice.

So much heat for this? I've got about 20 of these from the day the devices were coming with chargers. I'm sure most people have them too. I'm glad I don't get chargers in the box with the devices I buy. I'd rather buy one up to date that can be used with all my devices. They'll be giving me a new phone from work next week. I bet I will end up with another 15w charger. I'm not saying this is useless, I just don't get the heat this generated.

If you only buy a phone once every 3 years and you always traded in the old phone (with charger in box, before they were taken away) when you upgraded, then you don't have so many chargers.

I have two 25w USB-C chargers: one came with my phone; one I bought.

Just bought the Galaxy Watch 44mm deal so need a power block that does at least 9W for the wireless charger, so this will do.

Does this mean you can use it in european plugs as well? Such as France, Spain etc?

    15W is pretty useless...
You'll be charging all day at thos rate

686 hot for 15w, wow it must be for samsung s6 which is like 10yrs old, even play store do not work lol
    jujuzeez's avatar
why not. some people still love slow charging. some still on older devices too

My wife bought a similar "genuine" one via amazon (Sold and fulfilled by amazon) and i was on the fence of it being genuine at the time... it melted into the socket on its second use. It may not have been this listing but it goes without saying just be careful and don't leave it on while you are out of the room in my opinion, Too many cheap chargers knocking around being sold at discounted rates again, in my opinion.
    jewelie's avatar
Agreed. There's just so many fake Apple and Samsung chargers out there that even buying via proper channels it can still be a risk.

May as well get the 25 watt charger they now do. I have some old 15 watt chargers that came with my previous samsung phones, think I may sell them
    jewelie's avatar
Just make sure it's sourced by Amazon and not a 3rd party though

My phone is 2 years old and it charges 65w. Surely 15w for Samsung is nothing.
