I bought one for my daughter last year, save your money, they are absolute rubbish. Literally kept falling to bits while she was trying to use it. I sent it back and bought her a used Minelab one which is brilliant in comparison.

This is a toy and no more, it's priced a such in fairness. It's more than likely to put people off the hobby than ignite an interest. Ok for a young kid to muck around in the back garden with I suppose, or to scrupulously bury some cheap coins for as you both walk along the beach. Been there, done that. You won't find most of the coins though.😁 (edited)

30mm/3cm? Doesn't sound like much depth.

You would honestly be better served buying a Nokta Simplex or Minelab Xterra Pro. I know they are £300. But if you don't want disappointed and actually want to find historic artifacts then these are a minimum for an excellent performer.
