sorted byDense overworld - there is an almost overwhelming number of things to do, all of which are interesting and / or fun. Caves, side quests, chasms, sky islands , Shrines
Story - enjoying way more than BOTW this is definitely a more narrative driven Zelda game, I was hooked from the opening cinematic and the narrative is driving me to follow the main quests.
Abilities - this is where TOTK really shines, the new abilities are amazing and they make the Shrines way more interesting as well. I actually look forward to Shrines in this game.
I'm not a fan of open world games but if they were all designed like this I would happily be. It's easily a 10/10 for me.
Re graphics, personally I think they are stunning, it's like a moving painting at times & the music is incredible, dynamic when it needs (big orchestral themes) to be but mellow when not (beautiful little piano melodies).
I used to be in the 'Its not Ocarina ' camp with BOTW but now I'm converted to the new Zelda world. The only thing I would like to see is more traditional dungeons but even then you can argue the overworld itself is just one gigantic dungeon waiting to be solved in numerous ways. The game encourages creativity and rewards it. However, don't want to create, you don't have to, just follow a more conventional route. (edited)
I would just get this one and see how you get on. If you don;t like it then you'll be able to recoup most of the cost because Zelda games hold their value so well.
The idea of open ended game which sounds quite complicated intimidates me. Has anyone been in the same boat, and bought it, how did you get on?
The game holds is value so could always sell it if you don’t like it.
This week has involved a lot of clock watching. In hindsight I should've just booked the week off!
You can also use the £84 2 game voucher code for a digital copy of this and something else, which is what I did as I wanted to guarantee having it on launch day. (edited)
the steam deck version is also running flawlessly
I cant recommend the switch version because it such a downgrade. A solid 7/10 but hardly a genre defining classic the way the "online" reviewers suggest
The biggest let down which is why I loved Zelda games is the music. Where is the music! Why am I roaming around fields, mountains, valleys, etc with no music!
Game has been over hyped and unworthy of the 10/10 scores it's been getting. Personally I'd say 7/10.

cheers
I have about £25 on some Argos gift card but am curious about 3 months of Apple tv as I've drained Prime and Disney+ of all the good stuff. I presume the code would work on my Firestick?
Anyone want to convince me re Apple tv?
What would be my 3 must-watch series or films?
1) Ted Lasso
2) Slow Horses
3) Tehran
personally I don’t think people should just skip a whole huge Zelda game release just to get to the new one, the next Zelda is going to be years away you could easily relax your way through both than complete the newest one and twiddle your thumbs for years waiting for the next one to come out.
I’ve got totk for £43 on one of the deals it’s not going to drop in value for like 5 years, and I don’t mind if it takes me 6 months to a year to eventually get to it and my thinking is by time I do eventually get to it a more powerful switch will be released so I will be playing it with a better experience…hopefully
im slowly plodding through botw atm for first time it’s worth playing, there’s no rush (edited)
