Great price, but having rolled my eyes at all the “27 inch at 1080p isn’t good” comments; I went and tried one at 1080p and then 1440p, huge difference IMO and I’m hoping for a nice price on one before I bite.

    Heat all the same OP!

I have the QS variant of this which is 4K and I wouldn't be satisfied with 1080p at 27" but it is a good monitor

Would 1080p at this size be ok for mostly work in excel and word ?

Yeah, anything bigger than 24" at 1080p you'll easily be able to see the individual pixels. Some people don't mind it, for others it's a dealbreaker

I bought one for grandma and she's happy with it. I wouldn't recommend 27" 1080p for anyone with good eyesight.

Agreed but for those that have less than perfect eyes or just want big web pages, word documents and email, these are pretty good for the price.

It looks like no VESA mount.

The description says it does, the stand clips into the square recess on the back of the monitor so the VESA points must be inside the square recess.
