SONOS BEAM
Gen 2
Dolby Atmos maps sounds in space for a 3D effect so you experience planes as if they're flying overhead, hear footsteps moving across the room, and feel the score surround you.

Oscar-winning sound engineers helped fine-tune Beam to make sure you hear every word and can always follow the story. For even greater clarity when characters whisper or the action intensifies, turn on Speech Enhancement in the Sonos app.
4143546-qhmi5.jpgMade for music
Stream music, radio, audiobooks, and podcasts from all your favourite services with detailed stereo sound that fills the room.
4143546-LhHJb.jpgBreeze through setup
Go from unboxing to unbelievable sound in minutes with only two cables and step-by-step guidance from the Sonos app.
4143546-GfrxC.jpgTuned to perfection
Trueplay tuning technology adapts the sound for the unique acoustics of the room so your content always sounds just the way it should.
4143546-kl2p3.jpgFreedom of control
In order to optimise sound performance when using a moving coil (MC) or magnetic moving (MM) cartridge, and to accommodate all configurations as much as possible, MODEL 30 is equipped with an input impedance selector.

Sonos app
Connect all your streaming services, discover new music on Sonos Radio, and personalise settings.

TV Remote
The soundbar syncs with your existing remote for streamlined control and no extra clutter.

Touch
Tap or swipe the top of the soundbar to pause the music, adjust the volume, skip a track, and more.

Apple AirPlay 2
Send sound directly from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, then ask Siri to turn it up from your device.
4143546-pufmi.jpgHands-free help
Ask Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to set timers, check the news, control your smart home devices, and more.

This price has finally got me to upgrade from my gen 1 beam and that can go into another room. Looking forward to it. Have the Ray which is fine for the cash but I miss the voice control.

Spatial Online are doing the white Beam 2 on their eBay Store for £349 and currently the CS cashback rate on eBay is 12% which brings it down to just over 307 quid, that's a serious saving for anyone that's interested.

I’ve got one of these, great bit of kit, but I am eternally grumpy that it forces you to download their app before it will work. All I want it for is to HDMI Audio directly from the TV, but it doesn’t work without the app setup, and the app will not even open until you give it location services?! Plus WAN access, Bluetooth access etc… for a bloody speaker I want to put a single cable in.

I get that but I don’t know of a single wireless system maybe the Sony with a control box that doesn’t need an app? At least the Sonos one also controls the music. Plus obviously Sonos was designed as multi room audio (which I use a lot) and music streaming. I can’t see how you could do that or add wireless rears and a sub without an app? Obviously connecting to Wi-Fi etc required for software updates as well which makes a big difference for ongoing support. There are dumb soundbars about but even premium manufacturers have realised the need for an app as devices get smarter. Just turn off location services? Though that might be a condition of the services you can use via Sonos like say BBC? (edited)

yeah I get that it's an app based world now. I didn't actually mind setting it up, it was just the location services that really irked me. the fact the app starts by asking for location and if you decline then it just shuts down feels noteworthy that a speaker is literally unusable until you surrender your GPS location to the manufacturer.

again though, it's a great piece of hardware.

I get it as I have a particular annoyance with Nvidia and to a less extent Logitech and Razer that I can't just update my drivers without having to sign into an account! The others let you but constantly bug you. It is sadly a data mining world and then in my case you get spam SMS none stop when a large hard disk manufacturer gets hacked ( I won't say their name as I have had any negative comments about them removed).

Great soundbar. After 12 months I have still not managed to get Alexa working on it, though

Is the Sonos voice assistant working ok on it? It’s easy to accidentally disable the mics on them! Can’t say I’ve had that issue with any of my Sonos. I just go to settings>services and voice>add voice assistant

Great deal, especially for the black version as the deals never seem to be same as the white version

Yeah. I actually wanted the white but thought I’d post it partly for the colour reason and also so you don’t have to deal with Currys wasting your time going to collection for them not to have the items! 5 years warranty is nice too.

Cheaper than going through the upgrade program………I’m still waiting to use my 30% off but the prices are better elsewhere than direct 🤦‍♂️

Same! I’m tempted by an era 300 pair but owning the amp in a 2.1 setup it’s tough to justify. I was holding off on a beam with upwards firing speakers but at this price I bit. I’m still annoyed with myself I didn’t use the 30% on the ARC before they added £100+ onto it!
