Tag Heuer Gents Monaco CBL2113.BA0644 watch £5399.98 @ Costco in-store Glasgow

I adore this watch. Would I pay that for it though? Nope. Mind you, the way watch prices are going I may never buy another luxury brand again.. My Tag F1 Chrono was £1250 3 years ago. Same watch is £1700 now. My Oris Aquis was £1450 just 2 years ago - Same watch is £1900 now. I'd been looking out for a Tudor 1926, but that's gone up by 30% in the last 3 years. It's not so much that I'm being priced out of the market, more that we're being treated like mugs. The watches haven't changed, only the prices.. (edited)

What fool has a spare 5k to spend on a watch? - Don't people just use their phones to check the time these days. I haven't worn a watch, or seen anyone wearing one now that I think about it, for years.

Looks 1960s cheap and ugly?

I bought the blue version around 8 months ago for £5500 from Beaverbrooks. That was the going price, they wouldn’t nock any money off, but they did throw in a first service and £200 voucher. This watch when bought from an AD could be registered on the Tag Heuer site and gave you and additional 3 year warranty. I’m not sure wether you would be able to do that with Costco because they aren’t an AD. Though with Costco they would probably give you your money back if it broke in 3 years.

For those talking about investment, these are not good in investments. They should be bought because you like them and will wear it

More of an investment for those who have 5k to spend, you would lose more money buying a 5k car, even though i doubt you’ll want to be walking around with a 5k watch strapped to your wrist everyday, i think most people generally would be paranoid, i think a good smart watch these days is the way forward, especially with the digital future in sight, nevertheless it is a fine timeless piece by tag, not to everyones taste but even if you don’t wear it, it may increase in price as time goes on so a decent investment.
