Not sure how others feel about water butts but I had one and didn't find it that useful. When the weather was warm it was either empty or the water was too warm to use on flowers. When it was full the ground was wet from the rain that had just fallen!

I water in the morning, by then the water is nice and cool. It's also better because the soil dries over the day so it's less easy for the slugs to wander around

My back garden is on a bit of an incline with my hut a the top. My plans to put a guttering on the hut to feed the water but and then a gravity irrigation system to my plants.

Have similar plans. No big space but 1,000L of butt water ran out shortly into 2022 dry spell & am near empty now. Can't have more, wife hates the look of them all stacked around and it is awkward to get around shed & garage to maintain etc.. Am thinking some sort of big plastic tank in the ground.

Good price. I recently ordered 250L thin ones from ebay for £59 delivered. Found this very interesting product that links 1 or more water butts together (as far away from house as you like) and via gravity pushes and pulls the water back to the "Rainpod" in or next to your gutter so you can dispense water to a can or attach a hose. You can add more than 1 Rainpod in a system (i.e. I've got it for both downpipes so all water from roof will be caught), and sending it off to 4 x 250L butts. save-rainwater.co.uk/pag…rks
