Excellent laptop and runs really cool. I bought mine for £849 (which was voted hot) from John Lewis. The cpu in this is even better as opposed to the ryzen 5 6600H in mine.

ok so here is a few games i downloaded and played at native 1440p and dlss quality.

ni no kuni 2 Highest - 165 fps max

doom eternal "high" - 150 native, 159 quality dlss

hell blade senua sacrifice "high, medium shadows" - 80 fps native, 106 quality DLSS

no mans sky 'High' - 115 native, 128 quality DLSS

warzone - "high" 160 fps native basically maxed screen.

fortnight and dota and CS go all maxed screen at 165fps.

max VRAM usage was hellblade at 5GB but thats very graphically intesive, all other games were 3-4GB range so this laptop or similar specs should last easily for a few years playing at high, and can turn down to medium for even longer after a couple of years.

usual CPU was 70-75c and GPU was 68-80c

note, i don't care about high FPS so I limit my FPS to 60, played 30fps for years on the console so even 60 seems amazing for me and capped at 60fps, all of these games run locked 60 and GPU usage is only 25-50% and CPU 10-25% meaning temps were 40-65c and fans were a lot quieter sometimes, weren't even noticeable so definitely my preferred way to play. not to mention probably better for laptop total health battery, CPU, GPU, and fans under less stress to push all the frames.

Struggling to get past the measly 6GB of vram on the GPU, surely that's going to hold it back? Nice 140W TGP though but it's a 3060 at the end of the day so it's going to struggle to run AAA games at 1440p native res with all the bells and whistles on, especially RT...
    computerguy234's avatar

VRAM is one of those things that's high when you max everything out. You can always turn down a few individual settings and will still barely notice a difference in the graphics

This laptop is a steal for this price

Interested in any feedback on this as far as 1440p gaming performance goes , mainly I want to know whether this is at least as good as an Xbox Series X? I'm in 2 minds whether to return mine right now and don't want to open it until I'm 100% sure I'm gonna be happy with the performance , can't help thinking I should have spent a bit more for something less held back by the 3060 mobile with only 6GB vram..
    Dj_Yoda's avatar
    Dj_Yoda
For series X performance I'd say this falls short, the X falls somewhere around a 3070 desktop probably more when you allow for the platform development

So I've just got round to setting up my laptop and installed cpuz and this is worrying me. On the graphics tab it shows TDP 80W , does that mean it's a max 80W 3060 GPU? Can anyone else check this , thought it was supposed to be 140W? If it's 80W that's gonna impact performance presumably
    50384621-o2BPb.jpg
    zAndy1's avatar
    zAndy1
It's plugged in, switched thermal mode to performance in Lenovo vantage still shows 80W TDP. Must be a CPUZ error surely cos this model doesn't come with an 80W GPU as far as I can tell. Hope so (edited)

Really don't like the way Very operate, and I'd rather not buy from them, but I'd make an exception for this. Not sure if the RAM is upgradable on this, but it's actually just what I'm looking for if it is. Unfortunately, I'm skint at the moment, otherwise I'd bite at the price.

Ordered for £595 , will sell my Xbox series X to put towards it and use pc gamepass. I assume this is as powerful as an Xbox series X? Only worry I've got is the 6GB vram but I'm not a hardcore gamer so this should be fine for my needs. Games can take up a lot of space though which is another concern with only a 512GB SSD to play with. Anyway it's a good deal at £595 no doubt about that

Does anyone who ordered this morning still have an order status of processing?

Mines has read the same all day but no one has been in touch from Very. Delivery date reads Tuesday.

Reading the earlier comments is it normal with Very to remain this way until they despatch?

mine just says processing since this morning, ordered at 4am-5am, order confirmation via email at 11am but i paid for next day delivery so it is due saturday 10th "tomorrow" so expecting a dispatch soon, will keep you updated.

My order has just been declined as well....just checked it again and it changed in the last hour. Before that it said processing with a Tuesday delivery.

Phoned them today and they said my account was declined even though I paid in full by card and there’s no way of me getting the order. The call I missed yesterday was apparently a ‘courtesy call’ to let me know I was declined. Makes no sense to me since I’ve already paid in full for it

Mine was declined as I didn't answer the phone i never heard and they said I got sent an email too then realised they hadn't. Said bank questioned name on card as it was different which was rubbish as bank had already paid out. I got them to honour old price when new laptops come and gave put a note on my a/c. I have to watch for new stock then phone them back - not holding my breath lol

Ok, can anyone else who have bought this laptop help me here. I am trying to register it and yet the support page says the product's warranty started in October 2022, meaning I have 5 more months of warranty left. Is it like this for you? These guys better not have sold me a returned item... (edited)

I tend to turn RT off as I don't think it's anything special, I also always turn shadows to medium, usually high FPS hit and the difference between crispy high shadows and the lines slightly Blurred is nothing... Shadows are very little impact for me between medium and high. Those two settings give a jump and I wrecking it would be stable 60 FPS that's really good.

Overclocked the GPU for around 10%+ increase in performance overall.

Used MSI Afterburner and set Core to +175 and Memory to +1500 (no errors in memtest-vulkan).

In 3DMark TimeSpy I got a graphics score of 9692 which is very close to the full power RTX 3070 & RTX 4060 mobile GPUs at stock. (edited)

I bought it around 11pm on Thursday 8th June when the deal was published. Paid extra for next day delivery which was scheduled for delivery on Saturday 10th June.

They shipped via Yodel who had it tracked all the way until morning of Saturday 10th June where it was being loaded to van, but never actually went out for delivery. Called Very support on Monday who raised an internal investigation with Yodel and today the tracking updated with parcel being returned to sender.

Called up Very to find out that they have 'lost' the package. Definitely someone yeeted it. Luckily they have issued a full refund for this order and allowed me to reorder and have refunded price difference and postage cost.

Technically can't fault Very for this as they did their part and dispatched on time for the scheduled next day. After asking, they have told me the courier services they use are ArrowXL for large appliances and for other smaller items they use either Royal Mail or Yodel but you don't get to choose

Hopefully arrives soon and I'll keep everyone updated on my experience because not only is Very customer support annoying and long process to deal with but Yodel is awful and they most certainly can use Royal Mail for laptops but they choose Yodel. (edited)
    GOODSTUFF's avatar

OK so Yodel have finally delivered my 2nd order for this laptop from Very.

This is the condition it arrived in, as you can see it is clearly visible that it is a lenovo laptop and the plastic bag had been torn in transit.

There is no doubt that my first order that reportedly went ‘missing’ had definitely been stolen by a Yodel employee.

Bloody glad I ordered one earlier , just beginning to realise what a cracking deal this is. So I could pretty easily connect this to my 4k tv presumably and use e.g an Xbox controller for some big screen gaming? Has to be a better option than my Xbox Series X surely. Just hope it gets delivered, slightly nervous they're going to cancel the order , seems odd you can just get 20% off an already decent price and just pay in full there and then at checkout but I'm not complaining Cracking deal OP thanks

Regarding VRAM, it helps that the Xbox Series S has 8GB of VRAM essentially and that will be the lowest common denominator for this console generation which should last until 2027-2028.

DLSS also helps lower VRAM usage. DirectStorage with GPU decompression and RTX IO should also help lower VRAM requirements in games but so far no games are released with these features.

The cheapest Lenovo Legion 5 I've seen so far with a 8GB RTX 3070 Ti was at £930 a few weeks ago from CCL with second cheapest being £970 for the HP Omen.

So it cost just over 50% more than this deal for 2GB extra VRAM and around 25% better performance.
  30. zAndy1's avatar
    zAndy1
Anyone point me in the direction of a good extra SSD for more games storage. That 512GB main drive is gonna be full in 5 mins flat with gamepass

Went for this deal for a monitor to go with this for when I fancy some gaming on a bigger screen , would seem to be a good match on the face of it. I just think hooking it up to my 4k TV would be pushing it too much, a 1440p monitor will be a better match really
