Such adjustables now are for 50£. This is good deal, because of "T" if someone needs it.
Minus - this is "05" not "01". "01" is considerably thinner and it can be critical in some moments. But if tight spaces are not "on meny" - this is good deal.

Don't know what OP is on about with "05" versus "01". The 05 simply means that it is multi component, chrome plated. Nothing to do with jaw width. The width of these is exactly the same as every other 150 model. In fact, the multi component grip makes the overall tool bulkier and harder to fit in tight spaces, versus the normal plastic coating. I have the Knipex catalogue PDF in front of me so no BS replies.

just wondering what is the situation where the thicker jaws / wider jaws matters to benefit? versus the standard 01 width (which is probaably about 6mm or 1/4 in approx)

thanks guys. gotta say i'm loving here a traditional type (cheaper) knipex with the serrated jaws and multi component handle. a one that marrs finish
    and leaves scratches

so happy. therefore (for these smooth jaws options).... my preference seems to be the:

02 multi component grip black finish

however lengh... i guess maybe a bit longer

but then you have to buy plastic covers. or get knock off ones. or 3d print them yourself. but what do you guys think?

(also is there a version of this with one, but with a hook for the lanyard? because have not seen any)

First I bought 250. Nice tool, but it was too bulky for what I needed. Then I bought 180 and I am satisfied.

I have these plastic caps and they are ok. But the main thing is - where will you use the spanner. I needed for mixers in showers and 250 were "too fat" in order to grab the nut next to the wall. 180 are thinner and do the job perfectly.

For 41£ I think price is super - nice to have in toolbox.

Bare in mind that often you will need two such adjustables, because you will need to undo the nut not rotate the union.

Expensive for the 180mm. I got the 250 and 300 for less.

    I was looking for 180 which was stolen at work - 50£. 1.5 years ago - 36£.

The Jaws are the same width on a given length tool.
The 01 refers to the grips and finish
01 skinny red handle black finsh
02 multi component grip black finish
05 multi component grip chrome finish
    06 VDE chrome finish
    Etc.

thanks for the input guys... yeah my impression with these 250 length is that there have been 1-2 times where i just loved a lot the monstrous gripping strength / power. For some very challenging unexpected situation. Where nothing else can solve it.

Of course I am not a plumber and have a very tight budget. So the £41 is more affordable way to get into knipex range. And build up some variety of types of pliers. Just for a whole range of different possible use. Those difficult plumbing challenges are certainly a pretty good test however. With which to merit the item.
