This is an INSANELY good deal! Couple of the games do show their age but overall the series is a solid 9/10 for me. If you like open worlds gangs, crazy combat moves (knocking someone out with a traffic cone(or whatever else is nearby!). Tons of side content with Mini games , really good characters and voice acting and a really complex story that spans all of the games, but each game is also self contained. I'm actually jealous of people who are going to get to play these for the first time!

I always find the combat in these clunky , which is thought to have the best combat and progression ? If it gets hot I may have to buy it anyway, hopefully they all work well on deck

0 is the best starting point and has some of the best combat imo, probably followed by Kiwami

They are DRM free copies. they arent tied to any launcher, you download them and you can copy them to anything you like. cds, usb sticks. you name it! and you can put your save data on anything as well

If you're into the absurdity of Japanese culture and can see the humour of situations, then these are an absolute steal for the hundreds of hours of gameplay. Very in-depth stories too.
0, Kiwami 2, Kiwami, 6, 3, 4, 5 would be my order from best to worst.

Which game should one start if they have never played a Yakuza game before ?

Like someone else said above, 0 is probably the best start. It might be the strongest Yakuza game overall and it's also the first one in the story (they share the same world/recurring characters) so it makes sense to play it first.

Technically Yakuza 1 came first, but when that game was remade (as Yakuza Kiwami) they added enough flashback/references to Yakuza 0 to make things consistent. (edited)
