About this deal

Just seen this go live on the Turkish store

£30 cheaper than the uk one

Hope this deal is useful for some

Turkey PSN account required, games can be played from a normal UK account after downloading.

HOW TO CREATE A TURKISH ACCOUNT ON PSN and make it the main one on the console:

Creation time is 3 minutes. VPN NOT REQUIRED

1. Open the PSN web version here at this link id.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/id/…c.. ) and click the "Create" button

2. Enter your date of birth. Please note that if you enter an age under 18, then many games will not be available to you in PS Store

3. Next, in the "Country / Region of residence" tab, you must set Turkey, and in the "Language" field - English.

4. Next, indicate your previously created new email address and come up with a password.

5. In the final registration tab, follow the instructions and check the box "Received via email" - a confirmation of registration will be sent to the mail, click on the "Verify Now" button in the letter and the account has been created. Congratulations!

Next, add an account on PS5: Settings> Users and accounts> Users> Add user (on PS4, about the same).

• The Turkish account is for buying and storing your games, while you will play with a your uk account (if you need trophies and saves). Therefore, the Turkish account must be made the main one.

On PS5 with a TURKISH account: Settings > Users & Accounts > Other > Console Sharing & Offline Play > Enable

On PS4 with a TURKISH account: Settings > Account Management > Activate as Primary PS4 > Activate (if you already have another account activated, then deactivate it) That's it

How to buy the games:

1) Sign up for an account via the CRYPTO.COM iOS / Android app, you will need to provide a photograph of your ID e.g. a driving licence along with a selfie in line with their customer onboarding, KYC and anti-money laundering procedures.

2) Once your account is open, proceed to order one of their Visa debit cards. NOTE - It is recommended you opt for the 'Midnight Blue' Card as this does not require a CRO stake balance to apply for the card. NOTE - Initially, this is a physical card application and you will be required to complete additional address verification via the app. Once your card request is approved, you will be able to view a Virtual Visa version of the card via the app. NOTE - Once you have your virtual visa card, please click 'Enable International Usage' in the app.

3) Top-Up the virtual visa card via the CRYPTO.COM app. NOTE - The only option is to load the card via a debit or credit card payment e.g. from your regular bank. The minimum top up is £20. Please note that Crypto.com Virtual Visa cards are now subject to a 1% loading fee. NOTE - Unlike CryptoPay.me cards you CANNOT unload the card / withdraw a remaining balance after a PSN purchase, therefore it is recommended that you carefully calculate the total cost of your PSN purchase and then Top-Up the card accordingly. From my own testing CRYPTO.COM appear to be using a very similar currency conversion rate to that used on the Google Currency Converter.

Please note that from 19/12/22 the following transaction fees will apply when using Crypto.com cards:

Within EU and UK - 0.2%
Outside EU and UK 2.0%

4) Add the CRYPTO.COM virtual visa card as a payment method on your PSN account. NOTE - From my own testing I have found this needs to be done directly via account management on the PS4 or PS5 Console for the card to be added successfully without errors. NOTE - When adding the card as a payment method you MUST use the Turkish address you used when setting up your PSN account or the process may fail.

5) VOILA! Complete your PS+ or game purchase on PSN. NOTE - From my own testing I have found that any purchases need to be made via the PS4 or PS5 console directly for the transaction to complete 100% at the first time of asking.

I'm not one of these "pre-ordering is dumb" folk, but I'd still remind everyone that this is coming from Konami.

Konami that put out the Silent Hill HD collection broken and never bothered to patch the issues on some platforms.

The core of this collection was released on PS3/Xbox 360's HD collection and I'd be stunned if there's much of a material difference between that one and this version.

Can't argue that these games were classic, at least at the time. (edited)

Whilst you are correct, I think most people just want a way to replay these games on modern hardware. The Switch will clearly be the version to have as it will be one of the few occasions where it is exactly the same as the other ports but will have the benefits of portability. (edited)
  2. bobtastic's avatar
This is just a port. They haven't done anything to the graphics. All the rumours of voice actors coming back to remake it. Pffff
I've waited years for a MGS1 remake, I've been playing the original on PS3 from PStore.
At £20, I'll probably bite, for VR missions

I think you’re getting the MGS3 remake confused with this.

David Hayter (and original VA) are coming back for lines on the remake.

This collection is simply a port.

How much for the UK version?! £49.99! They are on drugs man, these games are old with the work done for the HD part. That's crazy
    Moody_Cloud's avatar
Modern Konami for you. Minimum work for maximum price. I remember picking up the original HD collection on import for about £35 as it released about four months earlier in the US. This is literally a port of that with Peace Walker replaced with the emulated version of MGS1 and some other throwaway games like Snake's Revenge included, which isn't even a canon MG game.

Thr worst part is that they haven't done any extra remastering work to these. It's the same 720p versions of MGS2 and 3 from 2011. MGS1 will look even worse with its 480i/20fps performance. (edited)

Great deal for turkey ps store, but 49.99 on the uk store is ridic.

"Jack, listen to me. We're all born with an expiration date. No one lasts forever. Life is nothing but a grace period - for turning our genetic material into the next generation. The data of life is transferred from parent to child. That's how it works. But we have no heirs, no legacy. Cloned from our father, with the ability to reproduce conveniently engineered out. What is our legacy if we cannot pass the torch? Proof of our existence - a mark of some sort. When the torch is passed on from parent to child... it extends beyond DNA; information is imparted as well. All I want is to be remembered. By other people, by history. The Patriots are trying to protect their power, their own interests, by controlling the digital flow of information. I want my memory, my existence to remain. Unlike an intron of history, I will be remembered as an exon. That will be my legacy, my mark on history. But the Patriots would deny us even that, I will triumph over the Patriots, and liberate us all. And we will become the Sons of Liberty!"

MGS 1 & 3 - One of the greatest games ever made!
    victor.nk's avatar
incorrect. MGS2 is a post-modern masterpiece. MGS3 and 1 are the most tightly edited. MGS3's gameplay mechanics staggering for their time. But Sons of Liberty stands alone, as a triumph of intelligent design.

I'm going to buy this BUT I'm so bitter that they took the HD collection off PS Now and are selling it to us again. I'm probably in the minority but the HD collection was the main reason I signed up to PS now and I never got to finish it. 😞
    Moody_Cloud's avatar
You could only stream it anyway, so not like it was the best experience. Plus they removed the original games due to expired licenses so didn't really have a choice.

I'm pretty sure this collection will show up again at some point on the new PS Plus Extra service at some point.
  8. bluenotesmiley's avatar
Konami are money grabbing with this release. I agree with the others here and it sucks they pulled the old version that was commonly on sale for a free pound, added the first game and put the price right up.
    Moody_Cloud's avatar
If you're on Xbox, you're better off picking up the 360 HD collection for about £30 from ebay. It's the original, non edited versions of the games so they'll be better than the ones in this new set. Also nearly half the price. You could always pick up MGS1 on its own when it's on sale.

This is why you keep your old consoles and (good) old games gents. £50 Uk RRP for a collection I bought for $19.99 on the USA PS3 store 11 years ago and still own. (edited)

Wise decision! I still got my PS3 HD collection and it's glorious

"War has changed. It's no longer about nations, ideologies, or ethnicity. It's an endless series of proxy battles fought by mercenaries and machines. War - and its consumption of life - has become a well-oiled machine. War has changed. ID-tagged soldiers carry ID-tagged weapons, use ID-tagged gear. Nanomachines inside their bodies enhance and regulate their abilities. Genetic control. Information control. Emotion control. Battlefield control. Everything is monitored and kept under control. War has changed. The age of deterrence has become the age of control... All in the name of averting catastrophe from weapons of mass destruction. And he who controls the battlefield... controls history. War has changed. When the battlefield is under total control... War becomes routine."

    Moody_Cloud's avatar
How? Three classic games, plus bonus games and a tonne of extra content for £20 is a bargain. The UK price at £50 is a rip off but you cannot deny this is great value.

I wonder if we'll ever get the remake they made for Gamecube - MGS: Twin Snakes. That was a remake well done!
    Moody_Cloud's avatar
It really wasn't. That game was Otacon's wet dream version of events and the MGS2 gameplay mechanics literally broke the game and almost all of the boss fights. (edited)

A hd collection of the first three and some bonuses like the original metal gear

They have announced a remake of snake eater but no release date yet so probably won't be out till 2024 at the earliest

Didn’t know this was coming out. So it looks like the MGS Collect plus Snake’s Revenge which hasn’t come out in a collection before as it isn’t cannon or made by HK.

  29. vulcanproject's avatar
Hmmmm. This price is ok but the UK price is silly considering the dearth of new content and the availability of said original versions of the most popular titles for years elsewhere. It's nice to have it all wrapped up in one package I guess with the soundtracks and extras.

For me at this point I would want to play these games with enhancements if I were paying strong money. For example the idea of playing the original MGS most likely just emulated on a 4K machine connected to a 4K screen with 320 x 240 rendering and OG texture warping does not appeal. Not when I can hop on the GoG version and run it perfectly well on a potato machine at pumped res, wider aspect and higher frame rates etc.

I have questions of how these versions are treated. Until answers then no money down.

Makes my eyes water every time.

I find it very odd that Konami didn't just make PS4 and Xbox One versions of these. They have zero benefits as being native current-gen releases and they would sell a good few extra million by being available to more people. The games would be backwards compatible anyway so no one would be missing out.

Probably waited for enough time to pass so they aren’t connected with that Pervert Kojima; especially during the #MeToo era.

Kojima definitely has perverted tones at times.

"Looks like boobies when shaking the plate”

Allowing the player to hit on any female in Snatcher (including a underage girl)

GamesRadar's David Roberts described MGSV Quiet’s depiction was an example of a "juvenile approach to sexuality" that typifies Kojima's work and the Metal Gear series as a whole. Michael McWhertor of Polygon described the justification for Quiet's lack of clothing as "inextricably tied to the game's convoluted story", and criticized how the game presented other female characters by "zeroing in on their jiggling breasts and panning across their asses in a silly, oversexualized way."

Lots of the stuff in all his games is perverted.

I have a particular question for Turkish psn account holders.
I have a PS5 and ps Plus on my U.K. account and have access to Spider-Man miles Morales but I want to play the original Spider-Man, the upgrade to the ultimate edition is £20. Can I create a Turkish account then purchase the upgrade in game at the cheaper rate, is it then a separate download that I can play on my U.K. account? (edited)
    Moody_Cloud's avatar
Just buy the PS4 version on disc and you can get Spider-Man Remastered for a fiver. (edited)

According to twitter digging it's likely vol2 will be MGS4, 5 and Peace Walker. Take it with a pinch of salt though.
