These are made of plastic, they just look metal. They feel very cheap and flimsy. It's a shame as Grohe are normally very good.
This is based on the one I bought a few years ago and returned so not sure if anything has changed since then. Looks like the same product.

Had one for 5 years and they are solid. Had daily use, been dropped and still looks brand new

Don't use this with an electric shower. Turning off the flow can cause a heat build-up and scalding when you turn it back on.

How about a gravity power shower (i.e., that is connected to an electric pump to push through more water quickly)

I normally go for Grohe stuff and was gonna get one of these a while back but was put off by it being plastic as mentioned in the comments.

It seems to be the same with all Grohe shower spray heads (and brackets).

So, I took a chance and bought the "Ibergrif Handheld Bidet Sprayer Sprayer" after reading some positive reviews:
    amzn.eu/d/iosRlVl

Solid, chrome plated brass and has a quality, weighty feel to it and I have to say I am very impressed with it considering it was only £12ish at the time of purchase (currently £9.50).

Used it with Grohe shower pipe and mount from a previous hand-held shower set and it works perfectly.

I never got if to use as a Bidet sprayer though but installed it in conjuction with and inline diverter valve ( amzn.eu/d/a…Ah5 ) to my exposed pipework mixer shower and even with the pretty low water pressure we have (<1.0 bar), it's surprisingly powerful and great for cleanig the shower after use and can even reach to clean the throne bowl if pebble dash removal is required. That's the brand I ended up going with too - much better than the Grohe one. I bought this one:

These bum guns are great and pretty easy to install to existing cold water feed to toilet. No need for mixed one with hot water as you would need to purge the cold water for ages anyway and you want the mains cold pressure to blast your hole.

Technically you are meant to only supply these with a cold water source that has an air gap, but nobody follows that guidance and it's no different than essentially having a hose pipe.

I know there's a writers strike on at the moment - but maybe you could pitch the line "cold pressure to blast your hole" to Disney as a potential title for the theme song to the next Frozen movie?

Good quality gun, no limescale or leaking issues after a year.

Aside from the bum jokes, there appear to be some experts here.

Can anyone recommend a toilet with an integrated bidet?

I looked into such toilets, found that turkish toilets have a little spray nozzle built into them: ultrabathroom.com/collections/turkish-toilets

Ultimately though we didn't go for that as couldn't guarantee that the actually quality of the porcelain and build of the toilet itself was good enough. So i plumbed in one of these to my existing toilet and put in an isolator (which also allows for pressure control) as well as a timed concussive valve (those push buttons they have in gym showers which let the water run for 60 seconds). The reason for this is you don't want to risk someone forgetting to turn the isolator off after use, especially at night because the water pressure rises and if there is even the slightest kink in the hose then it will split and you will have a massive leak. This happened to me in 2017 and i flooded my downstairs neighbours kitchen which cost me £1k in repairs.

For the record I think that qualifies me as an expert through learned experience, and yes, my username does check out (edited)

How do these bum guns work in real life? Surely when you are using it, all the crud in your bum just gets blasted everywhere, including falling onto the "gun"??

I'm in the closing stages of our bathroom makeover, about to fit the plasterboard so I have an opportunity to plumb one of these in right now but I'm unsure.

You can find these as complete kits with mini thermostatic hot/cold mixer valves + isolation valves (eBay: search "thermostatic bidet hose kit" or "thermostatic shattaf kit")

Good to fit as they take up much less room than a bidet, as they're fitted to the wall beside the toilet. Good to use during morning toilet routine. And, to freshen-up at other times too.

Avoid cold-only kits. It's simply unpleasant + shocking to spray icy cold water on your delicate bits... Warm water is much nicer, and of course encourages a more thorough wash (edited)

Only if you use mixed water..... Cold only (as most are) would be shocking for the ten months it's cold here !

Also, this CANNOT be attached to an electric shower... It has a trigger valve that the shower unit would think was a blockage, and trip the power. (edited)

I've had three of these, well bought one and they kept.on breaking within a year for Grohe to replace. Did pay 30quid for it many years ago though... It is plastic build but that may be a good thing to stop damage from limescale. However the problem with this design is that it leaks a few drops of water when used with an isolating tap. Which is very important because if you use it directly without isolating tap the braided rubber hose will eventually burst and ruin the whole house (I learnt this the hard way). However, with an isolating tap when you turn off isolating tap the pressure will release the shower heads mechanism which isn't effective anymore and leaks the water in the hose creating a mess in the toilet.. hopefully that makes sense.

Other than than, this shower head is kind of large too for a bidet.. so expect more of a smoother spreadout clean than a targeted one haha. Good price though. (edited)

I have tried several different products they all suffer from leaking issues. Why can't they make them so that they don't leak at all? In several countries abroad it looks like they have managed it and don't know why or how.

Did you know that the "bum gun" is actually a secret weapon in the war against toilet paper? It's like having a miniature firefighter stationed right next to your toilet, ready to blast away any remnants of your bathroom adventures! Who needs a bidet when you can have a water pistol that's guaranteed to keep your bum feeling fresh and your toilet paper expenses at an all-time low? Talk about high-pressure hygiene! It's time to revolutionize the bathroom game and bring some water-powered hilarity to your daily routine. Just remember to use your "bum gun" responsibly and avoid accidentally hosing down unsuspecting guests in the process. Splash responsibly, my friend!
