Well done Ikea, Thanks for sharing.

To be fair their drop off service is pretty ok considering they don't have decent logistics.

Their logistics dept. is completely chaotic, just like every other dept... I know because I worked for IKEA for 4 years.

Management at IKEA is the most incompetent, self-serving and arrogant bunch of Muppets you will ever have the misfortune to deal with.

I only stayed so long because of my co-workers and immediate supervisors who were all (well, mostly) hard-working, helpful and caring team-players who kept the store open and functioning in spite of management's best efforts to undermine, demean and blame them for their own F ups!

But I'm not still bitter about it or anything, I'm completely over it, it's fine, it's fine, just leave it...

IKEA recently lost out on a £79 order for 8 varying sized shelves because they wanted £40 for delivery.
    Went to homebase instead.

Couriers charge a lot for oversized items especially with fuel costs. Tried to send something on a pallet the other day and they wanted £400 for it.

Seems to be a way to distract from increased standard delivery price, from £4 to £6! (The £2 local collect option is still pretty good value to save the hassle of an IKEA trip.)

Ikea have a collection point near me.

However, on the two occasions I used that option the item never arrived.
On the last one, after a month or so later they amended the order to 'collected'.
at least that time I got a call to say there was 'no stock' saving another wasted journey.
However I had to put a paypal claim in to get a refund! (edited)

Good luck anything getting delivered without having to chase up for weeks!

Depending on the size of what you're ordering you might be able to get it delivered to a DPD collection point near you for £2. I'm looking to buy two frames for £26 and the collection point option is available. It'd get delivered to my nearest post office. I'd rather spend two quid shipping for the two items I want than trying to find items for a total of £60 to get free shipping.

    Should be a permanent offer
IKEA delivery is day light robbery
Never known a company to charge £50 delivery for a £15 unit

I don't think IKEA really care about delivery customers and offer it as a last resort. They want you to go in and pick it up

I voted hot as I love Ikea, but honestly the deal isn't great. You have to spend £60+ to save about £6. I guess it is useful if you need to buy something.
    AverageJoeseph's avatar
I'd say that goes for all sales

This free delivery stacks with discounted items so £6 off £60 delivery is essentially 10% extra potential saving. Shame I'm pretty ikead out this year. (edited)

It's a bit confusing as the following item is under 15kg, and even has the "free delivery" banner at the top of the page:

    ikea.com/gb/…19/

But when you get to the basket there's a delivery free
    specialized's avatar
Because of the size (length) I’d guess, but yeah confusing!

F me. Just ordered a delivery a few days ago.

Wish they still did the 90cm tv benches

Over 60kg but under 15kg? That's not going to be easy judging by the weight of most of the furniture. I'm convinced Ikea is a way of dumping depleted uranium, they just stick bars of it inside their wood panels.

Any good examples of what you could buy with free delivery? I see nothing but is it so hooot
  15. Icon's avatar
So if you had say 5 things that were under 15kg each (but collectively over 15kg) would that be OK or would you have to order them separately does anybody know? (edited)
    Crossbow's avatar
Add them all to your cart & you should find out straightaway at checkout.
  16. Ise2rasused's avatar
    Not free delivery
  17. terriertom's avatar
Their Oasis soup is good value - you get a roll with it.
    Crossbow's avatar
All their food is good value & yummy... expecially after a long slog through the store! When you're hungry you'll eat anything & relish it (edited)

this offer is a hussle, my wish list is £65 and weigh under 10kg for a total of 8 items.

When i pay it stats £40 for delivery. Isn’t worth my time to figure out why
