    Triple aaa batteries per torch. 3x aaa aren't cheap or convenient to recharge either.

    It makes you wonder if single or double aa would have offered a significant reduction in performance!?

    Rechargeable batteries are cheap. Tronic from Lidl are good and under £1 per battery. I don't see how it is not convenient to recharge 3xAAA. Yes, you need to recharge them in pairs, but that's pretty much it.

    Hmmm - all of the batteries that came with my torches were dead - checked with a meter. Any one else? Anyway Amazon did an auto refund and no need to return. Torches are fine with decent batteries.
