Great price for these. The title on Wiggle 'Trail Beater' I believe is an error as these are Trailmakers (As seen on the Adidas website here) - I don't even think there are any Adidas shoes called 'Trail Beaters'

Plenty of sizes at time of posting, I have wore these before & found them on the smaller size, so personally I would at least go half a size up.

Product description
Made for light hikes and outdoor tours, these men’s adidas Terrex Trailmaker Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Shoes are built like a trainer for a lightweight feel on the trail yet feature the protection, support and grip of a hiking boot. Made with a Gore-Tex® waterproof, breathable membrane, feet will be kept cool and dry, while the Ripstop upper and abrasion-resistant overlays are highly durable and reduce the amount of dirt and debris getting into the shoe. A wide forefoot and super-soft EVA midsole cushioning also ensures feet remain comfortable over the miles, alongside the EVA Stabilization frame that provides lateral stability and mid-foot support.

Additionally, the Traxion rubber outsole delivers secure grip on a variety of surfaces and a textile lining lends extra breathability to where it is needed most.

Get the adidas free hiker if you can stretch, similar to these but with a ‘boost’ sole which makes hiking incredibly comfortable

Try half a size up mate. I had mine in half a size up & they were perfect for me (edited)

Looked good until virtually every single review states they are far from waterproof and your socks get wet even on just damp grass!

I have these. Hiked one of the tougher routes on scafell as a complete novice. Paired with decent socks, they were perfect. 6 hours of walking, climbing and swearing. They did their job. (edited)

Glad to know they'll survive prodigious amounts of swearing

I believe they’re labelled as mens but I reckon if they have your size women could wear these with no problems

I've ways wanted some of these but a person on here said theirs fell apart after 6 months. Anyone got any experience of this happening? I'd only heard good things before.

Well that's annoying. Just bought some on ebay for 90 squid.
    Great spot and a bargain

I just picked up a pair of Terrex AX3 beta Mid for £49 in TK Max (Canterbury) and really, really pleased with them. Worth keeping an eye out if you want them cheap.

I've got a set of goretex terrex ax3s a couple of months back and really rate them. I'm normally a size 10-10.5 but I ended up getting a size 12 in them but they fit beautifully. Really looking forward to trying them out in winter. So anyway if these are similar I'd definitely recommend going up at least 1 size from your normal size.

I had terrex gtx eastrails and, although super comfy, dry and good looking, the sole lasted only 4 months of intense walking- the thread was gone and they just became unusable.

I've got these boots, they are great. They've got the feel of a comfortable trainer, but in a boot form. And they're waterproof I can confirm
    Somersett's avatar
Actually- NO. I mean the membrane 'sock' that is built into these poorly engineered shoes is waterproof until any aspect of the 'sock' fails as a consequence of normal shoe flex. So if you use the shoe a moderate amount, in any outside condition, the sock WILL fail, and the shoe will lose all useful waterproofing.

Old-school proper leather uppers are fundamentally waterproof in the construction itself, but may not 'breathe' as well. But they will keep their water-proofing for as long as the shoe is in one piece.

PS if you wear out the gore-tex in a year or so, you can hit the manufacturer for a free replacement shoe, and a couple of miles a day should see this happen.

Got mine today already, 12 might actually be a little too roomy but 11.5 was out of stock.

Adidas sizing is just wild though, had to return Swift R2 as 12 was too tight, can barely squeeze into 12 Ultraboosts, then have some Terrex hiking shoes that are spot on and wide at 11.5. Wish they have some consistency as always pot luck with sizes
