    All of the retro games can played without buying any base games, NES, SNES, Game Boy, GBA, N64, Mega Drive.

    The Mario kart, Animal Crossing and Splatoon content is DLC which require the respective base games

    You only get to play the DLC, N64, Game Boy etc games as long as you're subscribed. If you buy the Mario Booster pass separately it's yours to keep

    I'm sure it will last till then. But tbh, now these codes are available outside of Nintendo for the first time I'd expect this to be a fairly standard price going forward from Shopto and CDKeys, so waiting and buying nearer the time would very likely work too

    Thank you. I had bought a 12 month subscription without the expansion pack on Friday from CD Keys for £13.18.
    I bought this deal and Nintendo refunded me £14.48 in gold points! Very pleased as thought I was going to lose out but actually made a tiny bit extra in the process!

    It looks like you get a rebate, in gold points, for the time remaining. When you upgrade through Nintendo you get a rebate based on how long you have left, but as you've paid for the code upfront you get compensated in gold points to spend on the eShop. How much and at what rate I'm waiting on a response from our resident boffin

    The Mario Kart, Splatoon 2 and Animal Crossing content are all DLC that requires you to own the respective games, if that's what you meant.
    The retro console games all contain full versions of many different games

    Sorry need a bit of help - If I have one switch but four profiles (only mine currently a Nintendo linked account others for kids) do I need the family account for the kids to play the extra games etc on their profile ?

    If you mean the included DLC and retro games, then yes, you need one pass per profile. It's different with purchased items (games can be played across all profiles, as can bought DLC such as the Mario kart/Animal Crossing expansions).

    8 passes can be shared, each with all of the benefits, with Family Membership. With this price for family membership it works out at £5.75ish per member per year (edited)

    That will be to convert your membership to 1 year expansion pack. The price is reduced as you get a discount for how long you have remaining. That's if I've read your question correctly. How long does your existing membership have to run?

    You can play them offline too. The system will check periodically whether your account can play the content (I think every 7 days) to prevent people cancelling the membership and using the content. This stands for all of the extras with the membership, you'd get 7 days grace if you cancelled your subscription and didn't connect online

    Will say not the smoothest of shopping experiences. Just hung on the payment page twice after inputting my card details. Eventually used PayPal for it to go through. The order then looked like it was on back order...but wasn't. Code was accessible through the Digital Items half way down the menu in your account details. However, price today (22nd August) still £25.85, Price about the same on CD Keys but their website was down (again) ...you snooze, you lose CD Keys.

    When data is saved to the cloud does this then remove it from the switch memory. Needing to free up some space

    It will give you some more space, but some data is kept on the console also. Bear in mind some games don't support cloud saving. The main purpose is to protect save files should the console get damaged or to switch to another console. Ultimately, it's worth investing in a larger SD card at some point too.
