Hello is there a way to find out how many waves I have bought?
    pirate1's avatar
    Author
You get them all with this pass (all of the existing ones, and the ones yet to come). There's no way of buying waves individually so if you've bought it already you'll have what has been released so far (edited)

This, or a year NSO+exp :/ . Don't have Splatoon 2 or Animal Crossing (yet)

Depends if you want the N64/Mega Drive/GBA games too.

The advantage of buying this pass though is that it's yours to keep, no need to pay a subscription annually as once the subscription lapses, you lose access to all of the content.
Also, this pass enables all users and accounts on the console to play all of the extra courses, the Expansion pass extras can only be played by the account with the subscription.

The best of both worlds (for me at least) is to own this AND subscribe to the expansion pack as a family member in a group of 8 (£7.50 a year) (edited)

OK, apologies for the very silly question.

I've just purchased a Switch and Mario Kart and am new to Nintendo stuff.

If I purchase this and redeem it at the Nintendo eShop, I assume it will just download onto my Switch and all the extra courses will be available for me to select within multiplayer? (edited)
    pirate1's avatar
    Author
Yes. The courses can also be played single player and offline

Do these types of offers come around regularly? Only just got MK8 and don’t see myself using these additional tracks for a while.
    pirate1's avatar
    Author
They do from CDKeys and Shopto. Nintendo eShop RRP is £22.49 but it's generally available for around £17 from these resellers (edited)

@pirate1 or anyone. What time on Wed is the new wave actually available? 12:01am ?
    pirate1's avatar
    Author
I'm sure last wave in March was 1am, so probably either 1am or 2am (edited)

Nintendo are not releasing a new console this financial year, so at the very earliest it would be after April 2024. They confirmed this to their investors recently

I am considering the switch for my kids, we have the Wii.
    Is the game experience similar?
Do you drive tilting the controller?
    theframe8's avatar
You can do that still yes
  10. Shaun_Clapperton's avatar
I bought this a while bk is this another one I need to buy? Or do you buy it once and they add different tracks at various times?
    theframe8's avatar
It's one pass and they're slowly releasing the track packs over the year.. you don't have to buy anything else
  11. bennie1's avatar
So I pay £15.99 and get access to all the new levels now and the ones yet to be released? Seems quite reasonable for so many new levels?

Also, I'm guessing I'll Nintendo online subscription access to play this locally? And online or course?
    pirate1's avatar
    Author
Yes, you get all of the available courses with this pass and the ones to come too. You can play the courses offline too but for playing online you'd need an online subscription

Is it a total of 48 extra courses, including Wave 5? I.e. 12 new cups?
    pirate1's avatar
    Author
There's 40 new courses currently available, 8 more to come before the end of the year
  14. the_mayor's avatar
Just gonna wait for Mario Kart 8 Ultra Deluxe on the Switch U Plus
  15. mrdarknight79's avatar
Still no Delfino Square or Luigis Mansion.

Those were my favourite tracks from 3DS.
    malachi's avatar
Still plenty of tracks for them to milk over time.
  16. andrewworrall1's avatar
Great deal. Happy with the expansion pass for myself but I know I don't "own" it, of course each to their own

48 new tracks is basically a complete Mario Kart game, so for this price it's a mega deal

    Heat added OP

What's the difference between the expansion pass, and say, buying this DLC?
  17. Matt_Jones84's avatar
Do you get this for free if you subscribe annually to the switch online expansion pack? We subscribe do don't want to purchase this if we're going to get it free anyway but also don't want to miss out on a good deal! Thanks op
    andrewworrall1's avatar
It's included with the Expansion Pack membership but you will lose access to it if you downgrade the membership or let it expire

Didn't know 12th was the big day, just had the joy of breaking the release date of Wednesday to a very excited happy kid. Can only imagine what the excitement level will be when Mario Kart 9 is released in 2035
    jco83's avatar
Mario Kart Tour (mobile) is actually the 9th game. New game will likely be called Mario Kart X

Thanks OP.. 86p saved on previous offer 🏻

Heat for the deal. Think I’m gonna get this as my NSO expired and would rather have them permanently
