Nothing better than the smell of a burning mosquito frying on one of these.

Or just spitting on the electric grid and watching the sparks crack.

I have a rechargeable one. Was very dubious about about these types of zapper, looks like cheap plastic tack. But it is surprisingly effective. Large racket face gives you good chance of catching insect whilst it flies around and it zaps immediately. So lethal I'm scared to touch the grill myself.

have this one, like above its rechargable and packs a punch no prob. Cost £15 but ain't the worst price, only been a few quid cheaper at best.

I got one of these as the kids freak out at a fly thinking it's a wasp. Zapped a fly and just stunned it causing it to fall to floor, next second the biggest spider I've seen came out from under a cupboard and took the fly. Kids are terrified of spiders so they have probably had nightmares since

Generally found in the £1 stores for... A quid... Lol. Had to state that as most is far from a quid these days.

Haven't seen them there for years now. So a quid doesn't stretch that far either.

This type of device used to be very effective 10-15 years ago but the ones you can buy these days are not only encumbered with extra safety mesh / grilles but also don’t seem to have the zapping power of the early models - some EU rule no doubt.
As such, the bugs get away more often than not.

Ours is a recent purchase and works just fine

i've still got a poundland one but it won't zap anymore. i've not seen one in a pound shop in years and half the stuff in poundland is £1.50 or £2 now. the zapping part is good when they are still on windows as its easier than trying to squash them

These don't seem to work very well now, as said guessing the zapping power is reduced. I zapped a fly 3 times and it was still going so just gave in

Ours I'd great, really strong. Kills a critter in a milisecond, and still holding a strong charge since last year. Gives you a workout mind when trying to catch a fly (especially those dopey ones circling the 'main' room light) not so bloomin dopey when it comes to giving chase..surprisingly fast actually...

You won’t kill the fast ones with this as they’ll detect you wafting it & fly off. Also need to lay flat on a surface so awkward to position. You’ll get the very slow ones but otherwise stick with spray.
