DL has dropped significantly in standards, the 'Signature classes' are awful, Spirit is a dumbed down version of yoga largely taught by non-yoga teachers. So much cost cutting when DL is supposed to be a premium brand - getting rid of licensed classes, not manning the gym, cleaning standards really poor.
    skilcline's avatar
Huge mistake was them removing the majority of Les Mills classes, to be replaced by their “own premium” versions.

£35 in Teesside. I signed up with the promise "our 14 day trial is the perfect way to experience everything that David Lloyd Clubs has to offer".
Then I was told it doesn't include access to the spa area, so clearly not the perfect way to experience everything it has to offer. Very misleading IMO.
I won't be signing up beyond this trial. (edited)
    BodisBest's avatar
Eastbourne one says the same, hope it includes spa, classes and racket sports, as that is part of everything they offer.

Does anyone know if you can use it all day or is it limited to off peak times?
    edmn's avatar
    All day!
  4. Tryp's avatar
Strange, only selected clubs in England.
  5. Andwoo's avatar
    Only English locations unfortunately
  6. B_Marvel's avatar
Seems like a great price. I assume the trial period comes with Racket membership?

Are you able to bring non-members along for a reasonable fee?
    Claron-finds's avatar
You get racquet sports included on the trial, most clubs also have the equipment to borrow at receptions I believe
  7. bas613357's avatar
    Is it adult only ?
    edmn's avatar
Children can be added to the 14 day membership.
  8. j12dat's avatar
Does it start as soon as you sign up or can I put in a future date?
(I've only got 3 weeks until my current gym m'ship expires)

I think it starts the day you sign up. Has to be completed by 28th, so 14th is the latest you can start it.

No edinburgh clubs.. or even any ones ones in scotland

I’m sure a friend used the paisley DL on this offer in July.

Not that this helps you much, 2 hours to the gym!
  10. caron's avatar
I want to do this for my holidays which start 17th so if I sign up for 14th and says welcome meeting on 14th I’d I miss it can is till go ?
    Claron-finds's avatar
You don't need a gym induction at my local DL if you're an adult, just get them to call you and when they do just book in for 17th for the welcome meeting, all they will probably do is give you info on the club and ask to see ID or whatever.
  11. edmn's avatar
How much is it to add a partner and child to the 14 day trial?
    Muzaffer_Hayat's avatar
Ask David Lloyds if they have a school partnership. Entire family 7 day trial for £10
  12. medplaya's avatar
Does anyome know how long this offer is valid until?

Expires on 14th as the deal info states (edited)

If sauna steam jacuzzi is important for your trial...... Check with your club if they have sauna steam facilities separate to the gated spa/retreats which you can use. Trial card won't allow you access to use the later. Each club varies. eg Hatfield has general access plus spa retreat. Cricklewood has only spa retreat no general access facility. Another club may only have general access no spa retreat. Phone them and clarify

It’s the 14th tomorrow and on the David Lloyd site the deal says ‘Hurry, only available until 14th August’ the timer on the deal on HUKD says expires Monday at 23:59. Is it accurate that I could wait until Monday to sign up for this to get 2 weeks running Monday-Sunday? Or is it possible that ‘Hurry, only available until 14th August’ means the deal won’t be available for signup on the 14th? (edited)

Until includes the date mentioned. I set the expiry on the post as the OP.
  15. Samt9797's avatar
Just been and it’s like the royal rumble. Gym was on par with ‘the gym’. Kids running around everywhere. Didn’t even attempt the spa. Hoping 10am will be quieter tomorrow

It is the school holidays and there is a cheap trial running!
  16. Whitey93's avatar
To play tennis do you need t pay extra and do they give you the equipment?
    weeross's avatar
If you have the rackets membership, it’s free to use the courts but you have to book. They might have some old kit behind reception you could use.
  17. andydis's avatar
Perfect the one 2 miles away has an outdoor pool !
  18. Firefly1's avatar
It's around £160-£200 a month at my local; I have really appreciated the £20 trial and used it for 4 days. Thank you OP. Had a swim in outside & inside pools alongside Jacuzzi & Sauna, along with a 20 minute weight lifting session and a protein shake in the cafe each day It's been lovely - just too pricy to continue forever for me! Very grateful for you to the post the deal though. Back to work elsewhere tomorrow so that's it for me as out of town! (edited)

    Brilliant thanks
    Bargain that is
Some of these clubs are like £150 plus a month

    Heat because this never happens
  21. chillyemily's avatar
Not one of their Scottish clubs are on the offer.

Perhaps they need to invest in more clubs north of the border as they are all so busy.
  22. Samt9797's avatar
Cheers will use this on my week off next week. I doubt I’ll sign up the reviews are shocking and seems the spa is always broken. Will switch back to the garage gym once it ends
  23. sharonpaton2's avatar
Fantastic if you live in England 👌🏽
  24. Ion24's avatar
Don't join, unless you don't have any other option! Just check the mould on the ceilings in the changing rooms and shower. Also they change the fees, they notify you in an email with a link, only if you follow the link you will know about the change in price, but the email doesn't say anything about the change, just that the club is wonderful 😩...

Don't think the latter will apply to a fixed period trial.

Came up at £35 for me?

I did the 3 month charity membership that was on here a while back, loved it.

Why exactly do you say this?
  29. Fn6Dragon's avatar
10 months ago I trialled it. It was £14 for 14 days. May be areas dependent and inflation. £ for £. I find them better than Nuffield but still a lot of money for a gym. (edited)

i left nuffield 4 months ago.. horrible place now, rules change everyday
  30. Prawnexpert's avatar
Super pushy getting you to join afterwards, I had calls text and emails for weeks afterwards. Had to change my number.
    BodisBest's avatar
    Could have blocked their number

    £2.50 a day? 🤷‍♀️
  32. tlhdz's avatar
Do you have to provide your real details (name, age, etc) on the sign up page? I'd rather not, unless they ask for proof of ID when visiting.
    Cleverbyname's avatar
    Author
You won't be covered by their insurance for any accident or injury if you lie.
  33. tlhdz's avatar
They seem to have a removed a few clubs from the offer. I checked just yesterday and two of the closest clubs to me were on the list, now they're not

It's the last day after weeks, likely to have reached capacity.

Best keep your kids away from this offer. DL don’t have a good track history of keeping them alive
    philfaescotland's avatar
    Surely that's their parents responsibility, not a business's 🤷
  35. steeble's avatar
great, even though theres a club 2 miles from me the closest on this offer is 115 miles away
  36. CherieTaylor's avatar
Great offer. Does anyone know if we'll need to take a trial for our kids (under 5), or whether they can come along with our trial membership?
    Cleverbyname's avatar
    Author
Can't remember what the age cut off is, think you might be ok with under 5s.
  37. Specials's avatar
Has anyone done this trial before? Are they pushy on getting you to join them during/end of trial?
    Cleverbyname's avatar

    Nope

Only valid if you have not purchased a trial in previous years.
