    Heat added - but puzzled.... The two photos show two methods of securing the ends to the lock - (a) putting the hasp of the lock through two end links of the chain and (b) passing the end link of one through the end link of the other and then onto the hasp.
    Is this saying that both methods are equally good? Which method do you use?

    Makes no difference - locks are just there to satisfy insurance requirements (mine requires Gold) and to deter opportunist thieves.

    Anyone who has decent tools and 60 seconds will get through this (and 99% of locks) if they want...regardless of how you secure the ends.

    Can't tell if the lock is also Gold rated..

    edit: it looks like this one, which seems to be Motorcycle/Scooter Silver, which is equal to Bicycle Gold. (edited)

    I have this exact lock and it's definitely gold. It's excellent for the money and a good length.

    These are great if you can and don't mind leaving it in situ if you regularly need to lock your bike up in the same place e.g. Work, gym, pub even!
