Samsung are overrated your paying for the name same with iPhone I've got a Xiaomi redmi note 10 Pro I spent a lot of time when I bought it reading up on phone and from what I recall it kicked tuches not only other mid range phones but also some high end phone as well I would suggest doing some research before buying your kid a new phone

    Simply based on the IP68 and MIL-SPEC 810H, I'd take this over a Samsung Z Flip 5

I'm truly baffled by this going hot. If it's for older people who don't want a touchscreen but do want WhatsApp then the Nokia 6300 4G would do the same and save you £30 (edited)

What's baffling about a CAT branded phone for the work environment? Throw your 6300 about a building site, see if you still save £30.

    Far too expensive.

It is to expensive for what it is but for me the Flip designed phones are the most logical, protected screen / key pad and compact.

Nearly bit based on the different form factor. 16gb is a bit tight nowadays unless you can trick it into thinking a microsd is part of the same partition. I’m still thinking of getting this for running. My garmin watch is good but it’s easier to write android apps.

I think you might be ok with Android Go as those devices could come with as low as 4 or 8GB internal storage and 1GB RAM.

Can you use WhatsApp on this phone? Including incoming and outgoing calls. I am looking for my mum she just wants keypad phone but WhatsApp will work well for incoming calls if it works.

As long as WhatsApp will run on Android 11, it should be okay

Anyone know what the security update situation is on these? Can't find a definitive answer.

Tempted to grab one of these as a work device but mindful of the fact that if it gets too far out of date with security patches it won't meet security policy.
