The 1460 is the original Dr. Martens boot. Its instantly recognizable DNA looks like this: 8 eyes, classic Dr. Martens Smooth leather, grooved sides, a heel-loop, yellow stitching, and a comfortable, air-cushioned sole. Now in more shades than ever.

Born on 01.04.60. Named the 1460. Over six decades, our 8-eye work boot has become iconic
Hardwearing and famously tough, our Smooth leather can be polished to shine or scuffed-up
Our Goodyear-welted lines are heat-sealed at 700°C and reinforced with our signature welt stitch.

    Is there a difference between the men and women's shoes? The link takes you to the women's section but the shoe looks like any DM really

    I am presuming they are unisex because if you go through the outlet on the men's section is also shows these boots too. Hope this helps

    I've noticed that too: the last couple of months the usual cobblers that replace Dr Martens are all short of the soles. I think it's because of the disaster in America with stock that's caused the side effect of soles shortages

    I was a bit concerned upon ordering about how “purple” these might be. They arrived today and happy to say that they’re a very dark burgundy, i.e. not too far from the standard black DMs  
      No complaints here (although I do realise that these are nowhere near the quality of the DMs I wore in the early 90s)

    Mine arrived today, If it didn’t say burgundy on the box I’d swear they were dark purple. Not red enough to be burgundy in my book, and not as red as the photo on the website. I’ll be keeping them though.
