What is cruising solo like, are you seated with others at dinner?
    fahed2000's avatar
It's brilliant, you get away from everyone in the UK and chill out
People tend to be super friendly on cruises (human behaviour of being locked into a ship for a few days) and there are usually plenty of activities. Can't comment on this ship or NCL however, on others I've been on, you can be as antisocial as you want and go to the buffet yourself or my preference make friends by going to the restaurant and sharing a table with others. Dinner is usually the same bunch of people (allocated time and table) but on breakfast and lunch you are banded with a new group each time. They do often try to get at more singles on the same table if possible.

Edit: as kindly highlighted below NCL do not do preallocated seating on dinner. So you tend to meet more people as you cruise. Although you can request to be seated solo if that is availability permits (edited)

may i ask why there is a service charge? is this to make up for poor pay or just a mandatory requirement.
    getmore4less's avatar
    Service charge is discretionary.

Anyone experienced both or know how it compares to the MSC Virtuosa ?
    getmore4less's avatar
    Very different.

    We like Getaway a lot.

We have this date as a filler if it drops a bit more.

More included eating options than MSC, and we get more speciality meals with NCL(2) than MSC(1) when we can do solo we get 4 each.

NCL entertainment tends to be more aligned to English speaking passengers.

MSC parties are better organized in the galleria.

As with all lines post covid changes are impacting some things like food variety in the buffet but we never not found something we like.

This NCL is competing well against the MSC Euribia 7n on value.

    Standard add ons with NCL.

Free at sea for drinks and a meal £199
(+A bit of WiFi and discount on all shorex)

    Discretionary £15.50pppd service charge.

They have done the free at sea 50% a few times hang on for the next time to save £100.

Couples get 2 cabins the free at sea perks are better that way.

You will also have to pay for your own transport to the port.

There is a flight credit which might cover a flight to Southampton.

1st Oct is 11n, cheap as well.

Hi Sandy 1012. Have always travelled with the Missus paying the usual 2 to a cabin fare. Other single friends who wanted to tag along couldnt afford the double fare for the cabin so used to give it a miss. I am presuming this is a single cabin for a solo traveller at a single price. Have seen advertised particularly post pandemic but never with NCL. Am I reading this right.
    getmore4less's avatar
These low prices are the regular cabins, not the studio solo ones cabins, just solo occupancy.

If you like balcony get one inside(cheaper) and one balcony then move in together.

Anyone know if you still need to be fully vaccinated to go on a cruise ?
    TheMissBlue's avatar
I’ve done two crises this year and didn’t need to be vaccinated for either.

what do people mean a bit of wifi? data limited or patchy service?
    getmore4less's avatar
The free at sea package just give some minutes of paid internet access via wifi.

    Depends on cruise length.

The WiFi to access on ship services is no charge.

Main post heading says 10 nights, 'about this deal' only 7 nights. Am I missing something?
    Tee-Kay's avatar
I think you may be missing the 3 sea days (7 ports of call). The ship leaves on the 12th and after 10 nights away, arrives back at the starting port.
