Can you buy these via Tesco clubcard points
( meaning they would only cost £10 in vouchers)

We did a few months ago.

I must say, after Italy, UK's railway system sucks and too expensive. There isn't a centralised system, you have to take a few different metro lines in London to catch your other train while going from South to North or vice versa. Trains aren't that fast also. In this regard, it's not like the US at all but a bit similar, that the system tells you to get a car and drive.

Just felt the same coming back from Barcelona!

The Trip app makes it extremely easy to locate your railcard. Kidding.
    gabesdad's avatar
Yes, that's a pain in the rear end!

My nephews 16-17 railcard is due to expire at the beginning of October.

Does anyone know if we take out a new 16-25 railcard now, whether you can select a start date or whether it starts straight away ?
    imavillan's avatar
this offer is on till the end of September, just wait until then to buy it.
  5. boothbay's avatar
Thank you, just bought it through the app. Total pid 19.77 GBP for Network Railcard, you can select from what date to start (my old one expires in 2 weeks)

Can't sign up to Trip for some reason. Anyone else having the same problem?

Just posted and saw your entry. I couldn’t either.
Not going to get my business!

Cost me £46 to take train in to work in London everyday with railcard or £18 to drive in. What an insane stupid system where it’s better to pollute, waste time and be exhausted then use public transportation. (edited)
    alebaster's avatar
Yes, it is stupid. But it’s exclusively British abomination for a public transport to cost so much.

American site. I don't trust it

Worst website in the world. Can’t complete checkout. Have I been charged? Who knows

I find these Railcards are really poor for a single 30 year odd who would happily jump on a train alone to travel. However, as there's no Railcard, I don't.

If I'm travelling with people it's always cheaper to drive. Even if it's just 2 people.

I live 45 min from London, a network railcard saves me at least 5 pound from each trip (weekend mainly) and 2 pounds to Brighton. As I use it more than 4 times in a year, it's definitely worth it
  13. Vomit's avatar
We found in our location it's only worthwhile for trips into London.... Going anywhere else it would just be easier and a lot cheaper to drive.

If you purchase this, can you add your card to the Railcard app?
    hazzabeee's avatar
No, you have to use the Trip app if you want to show your Railcard to an inspector
  16. MartinBurman's avatar
Can never purchase Veterans railcard via these promotions and have to pay full price
  17. shALKE's avatar
    is Trip any good ?

I would like to transfer my Trip’s Railcard onto the National Rail’s Railcard app. Has anyone tried it?
  19. Swidc's avatar
This is so annoying, I've had TrainPal, TrainLine and now potentially another app to get my Railcard over the last 3 years.
Before you just needed the Railcard app... Straight to the Railcard not having to navigate sub menus
    happymanuk's avatar
Can't you just take a screenshot of the railcard or does it need to be shown 'live' ?
  20. dealorama's avatar
just sorted daughters 3yr 16-25 out, worked well, decent saving
  21. crankie's avatar
Has anyone been on the website. I’ve found it totally incomprehensible with pop ups !
  22. Professor_Chaos's avatar
On railcards own website can you select the start date ? Need to buy via club card vouchers …

    No

What Railcard can a 39 year old have who travel occasionally, asking for a friend...
    peassweet's avatar
Network Railcard - with this you can travel by yourself it up to 5 other people (6 in total)

Bought a rail card with a previous deal on Trip and the rail card won't activate even though it had been issued (yes, I bought a ticket as directed to activate it but that didn't work). Train guard said a couple other people had the same problem on my journey up to Edi this weekend.
    dave7's avatar
What do you mean by "won't activate"? Did the guard scan the Railcard and tell you it's not valid d or something.
I've downloaded mine from the previous trip.com deal and stored as an image so I don't need the irritating trip.com app.
  25. trapstar2020's avatar
How long dos this take for it come though ? Ordered one yesterday still not have it yet
  26. Mista's avatar
Dunno if i need to return to Specsavers, but this looks like it's only for those aged 16-30 or OAPs?

Can someone tell me how to get the rail card downloaded as my son has purchased one, however we can’t find it on the trip.com app
    careym's avatar
I found mine in Account then all bookings. I had booked a cheap train ticket to ensure it was activated.
  30. Burning4Deals's avatar
I can't see my railcard on trip.com app.
    please help me!
  31. Waffles's avatar
If it wasn't for this website, I'd assume this website/app is just a scam

Even now looking at my 'digital railcard' it looks fake LOL (edited)
    hotdealer888's avatar
I got my digital railcard OK from Trip.com, paid via PayPal. It's got a number and QR code on it. It's real. A bargain at £46.20 for 3 years.
  32. hotdealer888's avatar
Good deal as I am getting 5% of the price of train tickets. I just book online and get the e-tickets issued immediately by Trip.com. I manged to get a Senior Railcard for 3 years for £46.20. (edited)
  33. tubster76's avatar
Had a nightmare uploading photo for some reason. Now I have a pass with a qr code (didn't seem to need to buy ticket) but no photo! And paypal was problematic so pay with a card? Dealing with CS now.
  34. ADDCAD's avatar
Anyone know if this can be used with a TFL oystercard?
    4I6's avatar
Yep, I asked for it to be linked to my Oyster, 1/3 off TfL off-peak fares. Just ask tube station staff
  35. wbmkk's avatar
I like to buy my tickets directly from the train company websites, or on the RailUKForum ticket site, rather than 3rd party sites.

My railcard is with Trainline, which I just show via the app if asked (on maybe 10% of journeys only) I have never bought a ticket using Trainline though. My card expires soon.

Does this railcard operate in the same way .. or do you have to book via Trip
    Jonah13's avatar
Yes, works in same way, you just use trip app to show your railcard.
